EXALT the Lord

3 Let the whole earth his love proclaim,

With all her diff'rent tongues ;
· And spread the honours of his name

In melody and songs. 7. A holy God worshipped with Reverence. (C. M.) 1 XALT the Lord our God,

And worship at his feet;
His nature is all holiness,

And mercy is his seat.
2 When Israel was his church,

When Aaron was his priest,
When Moses cry'd, when Samuel pray'd,

He gave his people rest. 3 Oft he forgave their sins,

Nor would destroy their race;
And oft he made his vengeance known,

When they abused his grace.
4 Exalt the Lord our God,

is still the same; Still he's a God of holiness,

And jealous for his name. 8.

Psalm C. Paraphased.
1 EFORE Jehovah's awful throne,

Ye nations, bow with sacred joy;
Know tbat the Lord is God alone;

He can create, and he destroy.
2 His sov’reign power, without our aid,

Made us of clay, and form’d us men;
And when, like wand'ring sheep, we stray'd,

He brought us to his fold again.

3 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs

High as the heav'ns our voices raise;
And earth, with her ten thousand tongues,

Shall fill thy courts with sounding praise. 4 Wide as the world is thy command!

Vast as eternity thy love;
Firm as a rock thy truth must stand,
When rolling years shall cease to move.

9. Public. Thanks for Private Deliverances.
1 HAT shall I render to my God,

For all his kindness shown?
My feet shall visit thine abode,

My songs address thy throne.
2 Among the saints, that fill thine house,

My off'rings shall be paid ;
There shall my zeal perform the vows

My soul in anguish made.
3 How much is mercy thy delight,

Thou ever-blessed God!
How dear thy servants in thy sight!

How precious is their blood ! 4 How happy all thy servants are !

How great thy grace to me!
My life, which thou hast made thy care,

Lord, I devote to thee.
5 Now I am thine, for ever thine,

Nor shall my purpose move;
Thy hand hath loos'd my bands of pain,

And bound me with thy love.

6 Here in thy courts I leave my vow,

And thy rich grace record; Witness, ye saints, who hear me now,

If I forsake the Lord. 10. Praise to God from all Nations. (C. M.) 10

ALL ye nations, praise the Lord,

Each with a diff'rent tongue :
In ev'ry language learn his word,

And let his name be sung.
2 His mercy reigns thro' ev'ry land ;

Proclaim his grace abroad;
For ever firm his truth shall stand ;

Praise ye the faithful God. 11.

The same. (L. M.)
"ROM all that dwell below the skies,

Let the Creator's praise arise ;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung

Thro' ev'ry land, by ev'ry tongue. 2 Eternal are thy mercies, Lord;

Eternal truth attends thy word;
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,

Till suns shall rise and set no more. 12. The Enjoyment of Christ ; or, Delight in

Worship. (L. M.)
AR from my thoughts, vain world, be gône,

Let my religious hours alone ;
Fain would my eyes my Saviour see:
I wait à visit, Lord, from thee.
2 0 warm my heart with holy fire,
And kindle there a pure desire:
Come, my dear Jesus, from above,
And feed my soul with heav'nly love.

Ye faithful souls, who Jesus know
Ye golden lamps of heaven, farewell
Ye hearts, with youthful vigour warm
Ye islands of the northern sea
Ye servants of God
Ye sons of men, your voices raise
Ye that in his courts are found
Ye that obey the immortal King
Ye that pass by, behold the man
Ye tribes of Adam join
Ye troubled seas of earthly joy
Ye virgin souls, arise
Yes, the Redeemer rose
Your harps, ye trembling saints

Zeal is that pure and heav'nly flame

1. The Pleasure of Public Worship. (L. M.) | How pleasant, how divinely fair,

O Lord of hosts, thy dwellings are ! With long desire my spirit faints,

To meet th' assemblies of thy saints. 2 My flesh would rest in thine abode,

My panting heart cries out for God;
My God! my King! why should I be

So far from all my joys and thee?
3 Blest are the saints who sit on high,

Around thy throne of majesty;
Thy brightest glories shine above,

And all their work is praise and love. 4 Blest are the souls that find a place

Within the temple of thy grace;
There they behold thy gentler rays,
And seek thy face, and learn thy praise.
