Look unto me, and be ye saved, all ye ends of the earth: for I am God, &c. In the Lord have I righteousness and strength.-Isa. xlv. 22. 24. That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth: to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, &c, for he that hath mercy on them, shall lead them; even by the springs of water shall he guide them.-Isa. xlix. 9, 10. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. Isa. Ixi. 1, 2.

Return, &c. and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee. Jer. iii. 22.

I will be their God; for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.-Jer. xxiv. 7.

With loving-kindness I have drawn thee, &c. Turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God. The kingdom of God is come unto

Even so, it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.-Matt. xviii. 11 -14. Luke xix. 10.

Which were born, not of blood, &c. but of God, &c. Of his fulness have all we received, grace for grace. John i. 13. 16. 1 Pet. i. 23. Col. i. 19. Except a man be born again (or from above), he cannot see the kingdom of God, &c. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.-John iii. 3. 5. 7, 8. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will, &c. The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.-John v. 21. 25.

All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me: and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out, &c. No man can come to me, except the Father, which hath sent me, draw him, &c. Every man therefore that hath heard and learned of the Father, cometh unto me, &c. It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing.-John vi. 37. 44, 45. 63.

God sent Jesus to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.-Acts iii. 26.

Jesus, &c. him hath God exalted with his right hand; to be a Prince, and a Saviour; for to give repentance to Israel, &c.-Acts v. 30, 31.

God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, &c. They glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Now they which were scattered, &c.

spake unto the Grecians, &c. and the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.—Acts xi. 17-21.

And now, brethren, I recommend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.-Acts xx. 32.

Paul having made complaint of himself, saith, O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me? &c. I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.-Rom. vii. 15. 18, 19. 21. 24, 25.

I was found of them that sought me not: I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. Rom. x. 20.

Christ, &c. wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient by word, &c. Rom. xv. 18.

That no flesh should glory, &c. but of him are ye in Christ Jesus.1 Cor. i. 29, 30.

I have planted, and Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.-1 Cor. iii. 6, 7.

There are diversities of operations; but it is the same God which worketh all in all. Cor. xii. 6.

But by the grace of God, I am what I am, &c. I laboured, &c. yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.-1 Cor. xv. 10. Gal. i. 15. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, &c. But all these things are of God, &c.-2 Cor. v. 17, 18.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strong holds, casting down imaginations, &c. 2 Cor. x. 4, 5.

I live: yet not I, but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith.-Gal. ii. 20.

What is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward, who believe, &c.-Eph. i. 19, 20. Col. i. 11-13. We are his workmanship, created

in Christ Jesus unto good works, in all things may be glorified, through which God hath before ordained, &c. Jesus Christ.-1 Pet. iv. 10, 11. -Eph. ii. 10. Col. iii. 10, 11. But unto every one of us is given II. grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.-Eph. iv. 7.

Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, &c.-Eph. vi. 10, 11, &c.

Work out your own salvation, &c. For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do, of his good. pleasure. Phil. ii. 12, 13.

I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me. Phil. iv. 13.

The very God of peace sanctify you wholly, &c. and that your whole spirit, and soul, and body, be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord, &c. faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1 Thess v. 23, 24.

Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Col. i. 12, 13.

In meekness instructing, &c. If God peradventure will give them repentance to the, &c.-2 Tim. ii. 25, 26.

The just shall live by faith, &c. Heb. x. 38.

Now the God of peace, &c. make you perfect in every good work, to do his will; working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ.. Heb. xiii.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, &c.-James i. 17.

As every man hath received the gift, so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth, that God

In particular: God gives the Knowledge of himself, Jesus Christ, and of the Mystery of Salvation by him, in the Gospel; and of our Duty.

Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. Deut. xxix. 4.

There is a spirit in man; and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth him understanding. Great men are not always wise neither do the aged understand judgment.-Job xxxii. 8, 9. Ps. xciv. 10. Job xxxviii. 36.

Behold, God, &c.. Who teacheth like him?-Job xxxvi. 22. xxxviii. 36.

Good and upright is the Lord, therefore will he teach sinners in the way the meek will he guide in judgment, and the meek will he teach his way, &c. What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose, &c. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.-Ps. xxv. 8, 9. 12. 14.

I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: and I will guide thee with mine eye.— Ps. xxxii. 8. xxiii. 3.

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wonderous things out of thy law, &c. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it unto the end: give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law.-Ps. cxix. 18. 33, 34. 125. lxxxvi. 11.

Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk: for I lift up my soul unto thee. Ps. exliii. 8.

He shewed his word unto Jacob; his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.-Ps. cxlvii. 19.

Wisdom crieth, &c. How long, ye simple ones, will ye love sim

plicity? &c. and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my Spirit upon you: I will make known my words unto you. Prov. i. 20. 22, 23. 'If thou criest after knowledge, &c. then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God for the Lord giveth wisdom; out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.-Prov. ii. 3-6.

In all thy ways acknowledge him; and he shall direct thy paths.-Prov. iii. 6.

I have taught thee in the way of wisdom: I have led thee in the right paths. Prov. iv. 11.

The earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.-Isa. xi. 9. Hab. ii, 14.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book; and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness, &c. They also that erred in spirit, shall come to understand, &c. they shall learn doctrine.-Isa. xxix. 18. 24.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.-Isa. xxx. 21.

And the eyes of them that see, shall not be dim, &c. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge; and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly (or elegantly).-Isa. xxxii. 3, 4.

Your God will come, &c. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped.Isa. xxxv. 4, 5.

I the Lord have called thee, &c. for a light to the Gentiles; to open the blind eyes, &c. And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not: I will lead them in paths they have not known; and 'I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight.-Isa. xlii. 6, 7. 16.

I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord.-Jer. xxiv. 7.

Jesus said, I thank thee, O Father, &c. because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.-Matt. xi. 25.27.

It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.-Matt. xiii. 11. 13. Mark iv. 11, 12.

Peter said, Thou art Christ, &c. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,'Simon Bar-jona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.-Matt. xvi. 16, 17.

The dayspring from on high hath visited us; to give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death: to guide our feet into the way of peace.-Luke i. 78, 79.

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay, nor resist.— Luke xxi. 15.

These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, &c. Then opened he their under standing, that they might understand the scriptures.-Luke xxiv. 44, 45.

That was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world, &c. No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son, &c. he hath declared him.-John -i. 9. 18.

As it is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.-John vi, 45. Isa. liv. 13.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether

it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John vii. 17.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life, &c. If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth.John viii. 12. 31, 32.

Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world; that they which see not, might see; and that they which see, might be made blind. -John ix. 39.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me, should not abide in darkness.-John xii. 46..

I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father, I have made known unto you.-John xv. 15.

Christ, which passeth knowledge, &c. -Eph. iii. 14. 19.

If in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.-Phil. iii. 15.

The mystery which hath been hid from ages, but now is made manifest to his saints; to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ. Col. i 26, 27. Eph. iii. 4, 5..

Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. -2 Tim. ii. 7.

If any of you lack wisdom, let himask it of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.-James i. 5.

We know that the Son of God is, come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true.-1 John v. 20.

This is life eternal, That they might know thee the only true God, SECT. III. To give Faith, or Ability

and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world.-John xvii. 3. 6.

God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.-2 -2 Cor. iv. 6, 7.

But when it pleased God, &c. to reveal his Son in me, &c.-Gal. i. 15, 16.

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according unto his good pleasure, &c. Making mention of you in my prayers, That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, &c. Eph. i. 9. 16-19. iii. 18, 19.
