He calls the Hours his own;
Let Heav'n rejoice, let Earth be glad,
And Praife furround the Throne.

16 To-day He rofe and left the Dead,
And Satan's Empire fell;

To-day the Saints his Triumph fpread,
And all his Wonders tell.

17 Hofanna to th' anointed KING,
To David's holy SON!

Help us, O LORD; defcend and bring
Salvation from thy Throne.

18 Bleft be the LORD, who comes to Men
With Meffages of Grace;

Who comes in GOD his Father's Name,
To fave our finful Race.

19 Hofanna in the highest Strains

I

The Church on Earth can raise !

The highest Heav'ns, in which He reigns,,
Shall give Him nobler Praise.

PSALM CXVIII.

L

Metre iii.

IFT your Voice, and thankful fing
Praifes to your heav'nly KING;

For his Mercies far extend,.

And his Bounty knows no End,
Ifrael, thy CREATOR blefs,
And with joyful Tongue confefs,
That his Mercies far extend,
And his Bounty knows no End..

2 HE my Strength, and HE my Song,
Lo! my Days 1 yet prolong,
And each hoftile Force o'erthrown,
HIм my great Salvation own :

Shouts of Health, and Hymns of Praise,
Wifdom's faithful Followers raife,-
"O how ftrong the Hand divine!
"O what Wonders, LORD, are Thine!"

3 Ope the Gates of Righteoufnefs,
Let me, favour'd with Access,

Bless my great DELIV'RER'S Name,
And his boundlefs Love proclaim :-
Thee the GOD inthron'd above,

"Thee my Lips fhall fing, whofe Love
"To my Voice Attention gave,
"Prompt to hear, and ftrong to fave."

4 See the STONE, that, caft afide
By the Builders erring Pride,

In the Dome affumes its Place,
Own'd the Angle's nobleft Grace:

Thou the Work, great GOD, haft wrought;
In its Scene's our wond'ring Thought
Joys thy Clemency to trace,

Seal'd to Jacob's favour'd Race.

5 Save, O fave, eternal LORD,
Now thy profp'ring Aid afford;
Let thy fav'ring Beams arise
To thy People's longing Eyes :-
Lift your Voice, and thankful fing
Praises to your heav'nly KING;
For his Mercies far extend,
And his Bounty knows no End.

PSALM

CXVIII. Metre iv.

O! what a glorious Corner-ftone
The Jewish Builders did refufe;
But God hath built his Church thereon,
In fpight of Envy and the Jews.

2 Great GOD, the Work is all divine,
The Joy and Wonder of our Eyes;
This is the Day that proves it Thine,
The Day that faw our SAVIOUR rise.

3 Sinners rejoice, and Saints be glad;
Hofanna; let his Name be bleft;
A thoufand Honours on his Head,
With Peace, and Light, and Glory rest!

In Gon's own Name He comes to bring
Salvation to our dying Race;

Let the whole Church addrefs their King
With Hearts of Joy, and Songs of Praise.

B

PSALM CXIX.

LEST are the Undefil'd in Heart,
Whose Ways are right and clean ;
Who never from thy Law depart,
But fly from ev'ry Sin.

2 Bleft are the Men that keep thy Word,
And practise thy Commands;

With their whole Heart they feek the LORD, And ferve Thee with their Hands.

3 Great is their Peace who love thy Law;
How firm their Souls abide !

Nor can a bold Temptation draw
Their fteady Feet afide.

4 Then fhall my Heart have inward Joy,
And keep my Face from Shame,
When all thy Statutes I obey,
And honour all thy Name.

5 But haughty Sinners GOD will hate,
The Proud fhall die accurft;
The Sons of Falfhood and Deceit
Are trodden to the Duft.

6 Vile as the Drofs the Wicked are:
And thofe that leave thy Ways
Shall fee Salvation from afar,
But never taste thy Grace.

PART II.

1 To Thee, before the dawning Light,
My gracious GOD, I pray;
I meditate thy Name by Night,
And keep thy Law by Day.

2 My Spirit faints to fee thy Grace,
Thy Promise bears me up;
And while Salvation long delays,
Thy Word fupports my Hope.

3 Seven Times a Day I lift my Hands,
And pay my Thanks to Thee;
Thy righteous Providence demands
Repeated Praise from me.

4

When Midnight-Darkness veils the Skies,

I call thy Works to Mind;

My Thoughts in warm Devotion rife,
And fweet Acceptance find.

1 THOU art my Portion, O my God;
Soon as I know thy Way,

My Heart makes hafte t'obey thy Word,
And fuffers no Delay.

2 I choose the Path of Heav'nly Truth,
And glory in my Choice;
Not all the Riches of the Earth
Could make me fo rejoice.

3

The Teftimonies of thy Grace,
I fet before my Eyes:

Thence I derive my daily Strength,
And there my Comfort lies.

4 If once I wander from thy Path,
I think upon my Ways;

5

Then turn my Feet to thy Commands,
And trust thy pard'ning Grace.

Now I am Thine, for ever Thine,
O fave thy Servant, LORD;

Thou art my Shield, my Hiding-place,
My Hope is in thy Word.

6 Thou haft inclin'd this Heart of mine
Thy Statutes to fulfil :

And thus till mortal Life fhall end
Would I perform thy Will.

1 HOW fhall the Young fecure their Hearts, And guard their Lives from Sin?

Thy Word the choiceft Rules imparts,
To keep the Confcience clean.
