Build we each the other up,
Pray we for our faith's increase;
Solid comforts, settled hope,
Constant joy, and lasting peace.

3 More and more let love abound;
Let us never, never rest,
"Till we are in Jesus found,
Of our Paradise possest:
He removes the flaming sword,
Calls us back, from Eden driven;
To his image here restored,

Soon he takes us up to heaven.

HYMN 314. L. M. [228]

FROM all that dwell below the skies,
Let the Creator's praise arise;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung,
Through every land, by every tongue.
Eternal are thy mercies, Lord;
Eternal truth attends thy word;

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.

2 Your lofty themes, ye mortals, bring;
In songs of praise divinely sing;
The great salvation loud proclaim,
And shout for joy the Saviour's name.
In every land begin the song;
To every land the strains belong :
In cheerful sounds all voices raise,
And fill the world with loudest praise.
HYMN 315. L. M. [229]

BEFORE Jehovah's awful throne,
Ye nations bow with sacred joy;
Know that the Lord is God alone;
He can create and he destroy.

2 His sovereign power, without our aid,
Made us of clay, and form'd us men;

And when like wand'ring sheep we stray'd, He brought us to his fold again.

3 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs,
High as the heavens our voices raise;
And earth with her ten thousand tongues,
Shall fill thy courts with sounding praise.
4 Wide as the world is thy command;
Vast as eternity thy love;

Firm as a rock thy truth must stand,
When rolling years shall cease to move.
HYMN 316. L. P. M. [229]

LO! God is here! let us adore,

And own how dreadful is this place: Let all within us feel his power,

And silent bow before his face; Who know his power, his grace who prove, Serve him with awe, with rev'rence love. 2 Lo! God is here! him day and night Th' united choirs of angels sing: To him enthron'd above all height,

Heaven's host their noblest praises bring: Disdain not, Lord, our meaner song, Who praise thee with a stamm'ring tongue. 3 Gladly the toys of earth we leave,Wealth, pleasure, fame,-for thee alone; To thee our will, soul, flesh, we giveO take! O seal them for thine own! Thou art the God, thou art the Lord; Be thou by all thy works ador'd!

4 Being of beings! may our praise,

Thy courts with grateful fragrance fill:
Still may we stand before thy face;
Still hear and do thy sovereign will:
To thee may all our thoughts arise,
Ceaseless, accepted sacrifice.

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP.

HYMN 317. S. M. [114]

AND let our bodies part,
To different climes repair;
Inseparably join'd in heart,
The friends of Jesus are.

2 Jesus, the corner stone,
Did first our hearts unite;
And still he keeps our spirits one,
Who walk with him in white.
3 0 let us still proceed

In Jesus' work below;
And following our triumphant Head,
To farther conquests go.

4 The vineyard of the Lord
Before his laborers lies:

And lo! we see the vast reward
Which waits us in the skies.

5 O, let our heart and mind
Continually ascend,
That haven of repose to find,
Where all our labors end!

6 Where all our toils are o'er,
Our suff'ring and our pain;
Who meet on that eternal shore,
Shall never part again.

SECOND PART.

HYMN 318. S. M.

O HAPPY, happy place,

Where saints and angels meet!

There we shall see each other's face,
And all our brethren greet.

2 The church of the first-born
We shall with them be blest,
And crown'd with endless joy, return
To our eternal rest.

3 With joy we shall behold,
In yonder blest abode,
The patriarchs and prophets old,
And all the saints of God.

4 Abraham and Isaac, there,
And Jacob shall receive

The followers of their faith and prayer,
Who now in bodies live.

5 We shall our time beneath,
Live out in cheerful hope,
And fearless pass the vale of death,
And gain the mountain top.

6 To gather home his own
God shall his angels send,
And bid our bliss on earth begun,
In deathless triumphs end.

HYMN 319. C. M. [115]

LIFT up your hearts to things above,
Ye followers of the Lamb,

And join with us to praise his love,
And glorify his name.

2 To Jesus' name give thanks and sing, Whose mercies never end:

Rejoice! rejoice! the Lord is King!
The King is now our Friend!

3 We for his sake count all things loss, On earthly good look down :

And joyfully sustain the cross,
Till we receive the crown.

4 O, let us stir each other up, Our faith by works t' approve, By holy, purifying hope,

And the sweet task of love.

5 Let all who for the promise wait,
The Holy Ghost receive;
And rais'd to our unsinning state,
With God in Eden live!

6 Live, till the Lord in glory come,
And wait his heaven to share!
He now is fitting up our home:
Go on, we'll meet you there!

HYMN 320. C. M. [116]

ALL praise to our redeeming Lord,
Who joins us by his grace,
And bids us each to each restor❜d,
Together seek his face.

2 He bids us build each other up;
And gather'd into one,

To our high calling's glorious hope,
We hand in hand go on.

3 The gift which he on one bestows,
We all delight to prove,

The grace through every vessel flows,
In purest streams of love.

4 E'en now we think and speak the same, And cordially agree,

United all through Jesus name

In perfect harmony.

5 We all partake the joy of one,
The common peace we feel;

A peace to sensual minds unknown,
A joy unspeakable.
