4. Judge not the Lord by feeble
sense, But trust Him for His
He hides a smiling face.
Unfolding every hour;
But sweet will be the flower.
6. Blind unbelief is sure to err,
And scan His work in vain;
And He will make it plain.
L. M. 1. O HOLY, holy, holy Lord !
Bright in Thy deeds and in Thy name,
Thy glories let the world proclaim ! 2. O Jesus, Lamb once crucified
To take our load of sins away,
Along the realms of upper day! 3. O Holy Spirit from above,
In streams of light and glory giv'n,
Thy praises ring through earth and heav'n. 4. O God triune, to Thee we owe
Our every thought, our every song;
From saint and seraph's burning tongue !
J. W. EASTBURNE.
1. God is a name my soul adores
Th' almighty Three, th' eternal One:
Confess the Infinite Unknown.
2. Thy voice produced the sea and spheres;
Bade the waves roar, the planets shine:
Through all these spacious works of Thine. 3. Still restless nature dies and grows;
From change to change the creatures run;
And all Thy vast designs are one.
Rules the bright worlds, and moves their frame; Broad sheets of light compose Thy robes,
Thy guards are formed of living flame.
1. COME, O Creator Spirit blest!
And in our souls take up Thy rest;
To fill the hearts which Thou hast made. 2. Great Paraclete! to Thee we cry;
O highest gift of God most high!
And sweet anointing from above! 3. Kindle our senses from above,
And make our hearts o'erflow with love;
The weakness of our flesh supply.
And grant us Thy true peace instead;
1. ETERNAL Spirit, we confess
And sing the wonders of Thy grace;
2. Enlightened by Thy heavenly ray,
Our shades and darkness turn to day;
Our danger, and our refuge too.
And break the chains of reigning sin;
And form our wretched hearts anew.
Thy cheering words awake our joys;
Doxology. L. M.
And Christ to judgment shall descend,
Prepared from all eternity.
And Holy Spirit, Three in One;
With light and comfort from above;
O’er every thought and step preside. 2. The light of truth to us display,
And make us know and choose Thy way;
That we from God may ne'er depart. 3. Lead us to holiness, the road
That we must take to dwell with God;
4. Lead us to God, our final rest,
In His enjoyment to be bless'd;
1. Come, thou almighty King,
Help us to praise !
Ancient of days.
Nor let us fall;
Lord, hear our call.
Our prayer attend;
On us descend.
In this glad hour:
Spirit of power.
