C.M. In our young hearts Thy truth instil, That we may know and do Thy will. 3 May fervent prayer to Thee ascend For parent, teacher, foe, and friend ; Help us to worship in Thy fear. 4 When we on earth shall meet no more, May we above to glory soar; Where one eternal Sabbath reigns. To sing the Saviour's praise ; Lord, bless the Sabbath days. To make the Scriptures plain ; “Ye must be born again.' When truth shall set us free; Behold, these bow the knee ! Lord, crown their work of love ; May meet in heaven above. Of sinners saved by grace, Prepared for that bright place. 350 The First Day. C.M. 1 'Twas on this day that God came down, And said, 'Let there be light !' And drove away the night. Triumphant from the grave ; And now He lives to save. Upon the church was poured, The promise of their Lord. O may a heav'nly ray, Show us the Living Way! 351 Christ's Eye is on us. 1 IF Jesus should come to our meeting to-day, To call out the Christians by name, How solemn the moments would seem ! 2 He'd know who they were, for He searches the heart; We could not the Saviour deceive ; O who are the ones that He'd call out apart ? And who are the ones He would leave ? 3 Yet Jesus is here, though His form is unseen ; His eye is on each of us now ; And longs like the Saviour to grow. P.M. 4 His angels are coming like reapers some day, To sever the tares from the wheat, And carry God's children in safety away, Their loving Redeemer to meet. C.M. CLOSING SCHOOL. 352 Grateful Petitions. 1 HEAR, Lord, the song of praise and prayer, In heaven, Thy dwelling-place, The words of truth and grace. 2 Thanks for Thy Word and for Thy day; And grant us, we implore, Thy holy Sabbaths more. L.M. 1 OUR Sunday school we close once more ; Our teachers' toils again are o'er ; And thus our song bids them farewell. 2 May we remember every day What we have heard our teachers say ; And now we sing a kind farewell. 3 And may we, morning, noon, and night, Feel standing in Jehovah's sight; And see us now we sing farewell. To save us in a dying hour ! SPECIAL OCCASIONS. 356 Opening a New School. GREAT God, Thy watchful care we bless, Promote Thy glory in this place! Long may they echo to Thy praise ! L.M.
