And partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew for had they known [it], they would not have crncified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit. 1 Cor. ii. 7-10. While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold three men seek thee. And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. Acts x. 19, 28. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest. Rom. xvi. 25, 26.

w There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jésus. And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galat. iii. 28, 29.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body,
whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond
or free. 1 Cor. xii. 13.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I
will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh......
And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on
the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts ii. 17, 21.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on
all them which heard the word. And they of the circum-
cision which believed were astonished, as many as came
with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured
out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts x. 44, 45. There-
fore [it is] of faith, that [it might be] by grace; to the
end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that
only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the
faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all. Rom. iv.
16. Now I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister of the
circumcision, for the truth of God, to confirm the promises
[made] unto the fathers: And that the Gentiles might
glorify God for [his] mercy; as it is written, For this
cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing
unto thy name. Rom. xv. 8, 9.

was Rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto
thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a wit-
ness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of

those things in the which I will appear unto thee. Acts xxvi. 16. Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament. 2 Cor. iii. 6. [Be] not moved away from the hope of [the] Gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister. Coloss. i. 23. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry. 1 Tim. i. 12. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, [and] lie not:) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity 1 Tim. ii. 7; and 2 Tim. i. 11. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ. Galat. iii. 14.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name. Rom. i. 5. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think. Rom. xii. 3. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God. Rom. xv. 15. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. 1 Cor. iii. 10. And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship. Galat. ii. 9. Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God. Coloss. i. 25.

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Rom. xv. 18, 19. (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the cireumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles.) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. Coloss. i. 29. c Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gen

tiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts. ix. 13, 15. Delivering thee from the people, and [from] the Gentiles, unto whom I now send thee, To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power

9 And to make all [men] see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,

of Satan unto God. Acts. xxvi. 17. 18. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you, in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles ministering the gospel of God. Romans xv. 15. 16. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I per-. secuted the Church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Cor. xv. 9, 10. For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the Church of God, and wasted it: But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called [me] by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood. Galat. i. 13, 15, 16.

To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you the hope of glory: Whom we preach, Col.

i. 27, 28. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,

[even] the hidden [wisdom,] which God ordained before the world unto our glory: But, as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor. ii. 7, 9. That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Ephes. ii. 7. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Coloss. ii. 2, 3.

e Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. Matth. xxviii. 19; Mark xvi. 19, and Luke xxiv. 47. What I tell you in darkness, [that] speak ye in light: and tops. Matt. x. 27. Now to him that is of power to stablish what ye hear in the ear, [that] preach ye upon the houseyou according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus. to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Rom. xvi. 25, 26. If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not moved away from the hope of the Gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; [Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: Coloss. i. 23, 26. Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began; But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 2 Tim. i. 9, 10. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; Titus i. 2, 3.

By THE WORD OF THE LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalm xxxiii. 6. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John i. 3. But to us [there is but] one God the Father, of whom [are] all things and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him. 1 Cor. viii. 6. For by him where all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him and for him: Coloss. i. 16. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands. Hebr. i. 2, 10. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by THE WORD OF GOD. Hebr. xi. 3. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by The word of GOD the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water, and in the water: 2 Peter iii. 5. 8 Likewise I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke xv. 10. And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Tim. iii. 16. Unto

whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported un

Church, the manifold wisdom of God.

11 h According to the eternal purpose, which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord

; 12 In whom we have boldness, and access with confidence, by the faith of Him,

13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you,

to you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 1 Peter. i. 12. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Rev. v. 11, 12.

See on Chap. I. verse 4. (1)

By me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John x. 9. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Rom. v. 2. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope [did ;] by the which we draw nigh unto God. Hebr. vii. 19. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Hebr. x. 19, 22. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebr. iv. 14, 16. See on Chap. II. verse 18. (3)

And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellow-labourer in the Gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: That no man should be moved by these afflictions. 1 Thess. iii. 2,3. See on Chap. III. verse 1. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. 2 Tim. i. 8.

* which is your glory. And whether we be afflicted, [it is] for your consolation

and salvation. 2 Cor. i. 6. But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things [which happened] unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the Gospel: So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other [places;] And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Philipp. i. 12, 13, 14. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus
