2 O haste victorious Prince !
That glorious, happy day
When souls, like morning dew
Shall own thy gentle sway:

O may it bless our longing eyes,
And bear our praise beyond the skies!

3 All hail! exalted Priest!
To Thee our all we give,
Enthron'd above the skies
All homage to receive!
There deign in our behalf to plead-
There ever for us intercede !

PSALM CXI. L. M.

1 Praise ye the Lord-our God to praise My soul her utmost pow'rs shall raise ; With private friends, and in the throng Of saints, his praise shall be my song.

2 His works are all of matchless fame,
And universal glory claim;

His truth, confirm'd thro' ages past,
Shall to eternal ages last.

3 By precept he has us enjoin'd

To keep his wond'rous works in mind, And to posterity record

That" Good and gracious is the Lord"!

4 His bounty, like a flowing tide,
Hath all his servants' wants supplied;
And He will ever keep in mind

His covenant with our Fathers sign'd.

5 He set his saints from bondage free, And then establish'd his decree, For ever to remain the same

Holy and reverend is His name!

PSALM CXI.

Version 2. L. M.

1 My soul, with sacred zeal inspir'd, Shall wake to God the thankful strain, In secret with his saints retir'd,

And 'midst fair Sion's crowded fane.

2 Great are his works-with constant aim
Each faithful heart those works has trac'd;
His acts shall highest honor claim;
His righteousness for ever last.

3 His wonders to each grateful heart
In sweet memorial stand confest :
For boundless grace his hands impart,
And tenderest pity warms his breast.

4 His love, the souls to Him allied,
With food of heav'nly growth has fill'd,
Nor suffers from his thoughts to slide
The promise to his people seal'd !

PSALM CXII. L. M.

1 That man is blest who fears the Lord,
Loves his command, and trusts his word;
Honor and peace his days attend,
And blessings on his seed descend.
2 Beset with threat'ning dangers round,
Unmov'd shall he maintain his ground;
His heart is arm'd against all fear
For God, with all his pow'r, is there.
3 His soul, well fix'd upon the Lord,
Draws heav'nly courage from his word;
Amidst the darkness light shall rise
To warm his heart and cheer his eyes!
4 The soul that's fill'd with heav'nly light,
Shines brightest in affliction's night!
The sweet remembrance of the just
Shall flourish when he sleeps in dust!

PSALM CXVI. C. M.

1 My soul with grateful thoughts of love
Entirely is possest,

Because the Lord vouchsaf'd to hear
The voice of my request.

2 Since he has now his ear inclin'd
I never will despair;

But still in all the straits of life
To him address my prayer.

3 Then, free from pensive cares, my soul, Resume thy wonted rest:

For God has wond'rously to thee
His bounteous Love exprest.

4 When death alarm'd me, he remov'd
My danger and my fears;
My feet from falling he secur'd
And dried my eyes from tears.

5 Therefore my life's remaining years,
Which God to me shall lend,
I will in praises to his name
And in his service spend.

PSALM CXVII. C. M.

1 With cheerful notes let all the earth
To heav'n their voices raise;
Let all, inspir'd with godly mirth,
Sing solemn hymns of praise.

2 God's tender mercy knows no bound ;
His truth knows no decay;
Then let the willing nations round
Their grateful tribute pay.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God whom we adore,

Be Glory, as it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

PSALM CXVII. Version 2. L. M. 1 From all that dwell below the skies Let the Creator's praise arise; Let the Redeemer's name be sung Thro' every land, by ev'ry tongue. 2 Eternal are thy mercies, Lord! Eternal truth attends thy word; Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore, Till suns shall rise and set no more!

PSALM CXVIII. C. M.

1 This is the day the Lord hath made,
He calls the hours his own;

Let heav'n rejoice, let earth be glad,
And praise surround the throne.

2 To day He rose and left the dead,
And Satan's empire fell;

To day the saints his triumph spread,
And all his wonders tell.

3 Hosanna to th' anointed King!
To David's holy Son!

Help us, O Lord! descend, and bring
Salvation from the throne.

4 Hosanna, in the highest strains
The Church on earth can raise :
The highest heav'ns in which he reigns
Shall give him nobler praise.
