O JESU, may we raised be
From death in sin, to life in Thee!
This day, the HOLY GHOST first came
Upon the Church, in tongues of flame :—
O'SPIRIT, may Thy Grace, we pray,
Be pour'd anew on us to-day!
O Day of light, and life, and grace,—
Sweet pause in life's tumultuous race,
Thy hallow'd hours, vouchsaf'd in love,
We render back to GoD above.
