M. 1 LET God arise, the only wise, 2 The dawning ray of that bright day, Whose sun shall gladden every place, A light imparts that cheers our hearts, And bids us toil and danger face. 3 The Lord has said His truth shall spread, 4 This day is light, but far more bright The day when Jesus will return ; He'll wipe away all tears that day, His people never more shall mourn. 1 LET us with a gladsome mind 7s. 2 He, with all-commanding might, 3 All things living He doth feed; 4 He His chosen race did bless 5 He hath with a piteous eye 6 Let us, then, with gladsome mind 54. Mortals catch their joyful strain. E 2 Ev'ry eye shall now behold Him Rob'd in dreadful majesty; They who set at nought and sold Him, Pierc'd and nail'd Him to the tree, Deeply wailing, Shall the true Messiah see. 3 Blest Redemption, long expected! See the Son of God is there. 4 Yes, Amen! let all adore Thee, Come, and make Thy glories known. 55. C. M. 1 LORD, as to Thy dear cross we flee, And plead to be forgiven, So let Thy life our pattern be, And form our souls for heaven. 2 Help us, through good report and ill, Our daily cross to bear, Like Thee, to do our Father's will, 3 Let grace our selfishness expel, And kindness in our bosom dwell, 4 If joy shall at Thy bidding fly, And grief's dark day come on, We, in our turn, would meekly cry "Father, Thy will be done." 5 [Should friends misjudge, or foes defame, Or brethren faithless prove, Then, like Thine own, be all our aim 6 Kept peaceful in the midst of strife, O may we lead the pilgrim's life, 56.
