fcourge fhall not approach to thy tabernacle.

Because he has given his angels charge over thee; that they keep thee in all thy

ways.

In their hands they fhall bear thee, left perhaps thou hurt thy foot against a stone. Upon the Afp and Bafilifk thou fhalt walk; and tread upon the Lion and dragon.

Because he hath hoped in me, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he has known my name.

He has cried to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in Tribulation, I will deliver, and glorify him.

With length of days, I will replenish him, and will fhew him my falvation.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

O

A Prayer.

God, who defpifeft nor the tears of the contrite, nor the fighs of them that mourn, attend to the prayers we pour forth to thee in our tribulation, and mercifully hear them, that whatever devils or men defign against us, may be brought to nothing, and be crushed by the effects of thy goodnels: So that being hurt by no adverfities, but delivered from all tribulation and diftrefs, we may render thanks to thee in th church. Forgive, O Lord, our fins, and grantus the cy we aík: Have regard to our miseries,

break our bonds, blot out our offences, behold our tribulation, repel our adverfity, and granting the effect of our petition, graciously hear our prayer thro' our Lord, &c.

Hoever defires to be faved, it is neceffary before all things, that he hold the Catholic faith.

Which except every one shall keep whole, and inviolate, he fhall without doubt eternally perish.

And this is the Catholic faith, that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity.

Neither confounding the perfons, nor dividing the substance..

For there is one perfon of the Father, another of the Son, another of the Holy Ghoft.

But the Godhead of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoft, is one, the glory equal, the majefty co-eternal.

Such as the Father is, fuch is the Son, fuch is the Holy Ghost.

The Father is uncreated, the Son uncreated, the Holy Ghoft uncreated.

The Father is incomprehenfible, the Son incomprehenfible, the Holy Ghoft incompre henfible.

The Father is eternal, the Son eternal, the Holy Ghoft eternal.

And yet not three eternal, but one eternal.

As there are not three increated, not three incomprehenfible; but one increated, and one incomprehenfible.

Even fo the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, the Holy Ghoft Almighty.

And yet not three Almighty, but one Almighty.

So the Father is God, the Son God, and the Holy Ghost God.

And yet there are not three Gods, but one only God.

So the Father is Lord, the Son is Lord, and the Holy Ghoft is Lord.

And yet there are not three Lords, but one Lord.

For as we are compelled by Chriftian truth, to acknowledge each Perfon feverally to be God and Lord: fo we are forbid by the Catholic religion, to fay there are three Gods or i ords.

The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten.

The Son is of the Father alone, neither made, nor created, but begotten.

The Holy Ghoft is of the Father, and the Son; not made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.

There is therefore one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Ghoft, not three Holy Ghofts.

And yet in this Trinity, nothing is before

nor after; nothing greater or leffer; but the whole three perfons are co-eternal, and coequal,

So that throughout all, as is above-faid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.

He therefore who defires to be faved, let him believe thus of the Trinity.

But it is neceffary to eternal falvation, that he faithfully believe the Incarnation also of our Lord Jefus Chrift.

The right faith therefore is, that we believe and confefs: that our Lord Jefus Chrift the Son of God, is God and Man.

He is God of the fubftance of the Father, begotten before all times; and Man of the fubftance of his Mother, born in Time.

Perfect God, and perfect Man, fubfifting of a reasonable foul, and human flesh.

Equal to the Father, according to his Godhead: lefs than the Father, according to his humanity.

"Who although he be God and Man, yet is he not two, but one Christ.

One, not by converfion of the Godhead into Flesh; but by taking of the Manhood into God.

One altogether, not by confufion of subftance, but by unity of perfon.

For as a reasonable foul and flesh is one man, fo God and Man is one Chrift.

Who fuffered for our falvation, defcended into Hell, rofe again the third day from the dead.

He afcended into heaven, fits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he is to come to judge the quick and the dead.

At whofe coming all men fhall rife with their bodies, and render account of their deeds. :

And they, who have done good shall go into life everlasting, but they, who have done * evil, into everlasting fire.

This is the Catholic Faith, which except. every one shall faithfully and firmly believe, he cannot be faved.

The Paffion of our Lord Jefus Chrift, according to St. Matthew, chap. xxvi.

Which is Lid by the Church on Palm-Sunday.

Tthat time Jefus faid to his difciples, You know that after two days will be the Pafchal Feaft, and the Son of Man fhall be delivered to be crucified. Then were gathered together the chief priests and ancients of the people, into the court of the high priest, who was called Caiphas; and they confulted, how they might by fome wile apprehend Jefus, to kill him. But they faid, Not on the feftival day, left perhaps there may be a tumult among the people. And when Jefus was in Bethania, in the house of Simon the Leper, there came to him a woman having an alabafter box of precious ointment, and poured it out upon his head, as he fat at
