Perfections of God's Government. 1 THE Lord Jehovah reigns; His throne is built on high; His glories shine with beams so bright, 2 The thunders of his hand Keep the wide world in awe; And where his love resolves to bless, And breaks their cursed designs: Strong is his arm-and shall fulfill His great decrees-his sovereign will. 4 And can this mighty King Of glory condescend,And will he write his name, My Father and my Friend? God, the Creator. 1 ETERNAL Wisdom! thee we praise, With thy loved name, rocks, hills, and seas, 2 How wide thy hand hath spread the sky! How glorious to behold! Tinged with a blue of heavenly dye, 3 Thy glories blaze all nature round, Through skies, and seas, and solid ground, 4 Infinite strength, and equal skill, Shine through the worlds abroad; Our souls with vast amazement fill, 5 But still, the wonders of thy grace 13. God's eternal Dominion. 1 GREAT God! how infinite art thou! 2 Thy throne eternal ages stood, 3 Eternity, with all its years, Stands present in thy view; To thee there's nothing old appears― 4 Our lives through various scenes are drawn, And vexed with trifling cares; While thine eternal thought moves on 5 Great God! how infinite art thou!
