The Fourteenth Senate of the State of Washington assembled at the Senate Chamber in the State Capitol, pursuant to law, at 12:00 o'clock noon. Lieutenant Governor Louis F. Hart, president of the Senate, called the Senate to order. Rev. W. H. W. Rees, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Episcopal church of Tacoma, offered prayer. The secretary of the Senate for the Thirteenth Session, William T. Laube, read the following certificate from the secretary of state: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, STATE OF WASHINGTON, I, I. M. Howell, secretary of state of the State of Washington, do hereby certify that the following is a full, true and correct list of persons elected at the general election held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1914, from the several Senatorial districts as shown by official returns on said election on file in this office, and are entitled to seats in the Senate of the legislature of the State of Washington, at the fourteenth biennial session, commencing on Monday, January 11, 1915, and also the list of the "holdover" senators from the thirteenth session of the state legislature: |
