Sec. 6. The Governor is hereby empowered, through the prop-Governor er military department, to purchase and distribute all necessary to purchase military stores, whether of subsistence, clothing, pay, medicines, stores, &o. field and camp equipage, arms, munitions and equipments, which shall be properly accounted for to the legislature; and at Report of to the disbanding of said force, he shall store the property of the State in as good condition as practicable at the seat of government, or at such other place as he may deem best.
Such reports shall account for all moneys received and disbursed, description and cost of all articles purchased; he shall have pow-Power to

[ No. 255. ] AN ACT to amend an act entitled an act further to preserve
the purity of elections, and guard against the abuses of the elective franchise, by a registration of electors.
SECTION 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That on the second Thursday, Friday and Saturday next preceding session of the general election, and on the second Thursday and Friday registration next preceding the day of the regular charter clection of the city of Detroit, and not afterwards, the board of registration shall be in session at such places in the scveral wards aud districts as they shall designate in their notices as prescribed by law, from nine o'clock in the forenoon until five o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of completing the list of qualified voters, in pursuance of said act, approved February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty-nine; and any member of said board may administer an oath or affirmation to the applicant that he
shall true answers make to all questions put to him touching his qualifications as an elector.
Sec. 2. So much of sections one and five of the act aforesaid, approved February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty-nine, as may be inconsistent with this act, and all other acts and parts of acts contravening the provisions of this act, are hereby repealed: Provided, That this act shall apply and have force only in the city of Detroit, in the county of Wayne.

Section 1.
