2 I'll sing thy truth and mercy, Lord!
I'll sing the wonders of thy word;
Not all thy works, nor names below,
So much thy power and glory show;
3 To God I cried when troubles rose;
He heard me, and subdued my foes;
He did my rising fears controul,
And strength diffus'd through all my soul.
4 Amidst a thousand snares I stand,
Upheld and guarded by thy hand ;
Thy words my fainting soul revive,
And keep my dying faith alive.

HYMN 154. (C. M.)

Praise to Christ.

1 THOU only source of true delight, Whom I unseen adore;

Unveil thy beauties to my sight,
That I may love Thee more.
2 Thy glory o'er creation shines;
But in thy sacred word

I read in fairer, brighter lines,
My bleeding, dying Lord.

3 'Tis here, when holy comforts droop,
And sins and sorrows rise,

Thy love with cheerful beams of hope
My fainting heart supplies.

4 Jesus! my Lord, my Life, my Light!
O! Come with blissful ray;

Break radiant through the shades of night,
And chase my fears away.

HYMN 155. (S. M.)
The glory of Christ.

HOW glorious is thy name,

Through all the ransom'd host;

O Blessed Lamb of God! who came
To seek and save the lost.

2 Thou art beyond compare,

Most precious in our sight!
Than all the sons of men more fair,
And infinite in might!

3 Thy perfect work divine,
Makes us for ever blest;

Here truth and mercy brightly shine,
And men with God do rest.

4 Let us count all things loss,
That Jesus we may win;
And daily glory in his cross,
And leave the paths of sin.

5 In him let us rejoice,

Salvation he hath wrought;

Be his command our constant choice,
Since with his blood we're bought.

HYMN 156. (L. M.)
Public Worship.

HOW delightful is the place,

Where sinners seek the Saviour's face;

Where they in social union meet,

To worship at their Maker's feet.

2 'Tis here the hungry souls are fed, And satisfied with living bread;

And here the gentle waters roll,
To comfort and refresh the soul.

3 O may we with this happy throng,
Unite to sing a grateful song;

1

While here they feel a Saviour's love,
And join them in his praise above.

HYMN 157. (L. M.)

Jesus the Good Shepherd.

MY Shepherd is the living Lord,

Now shall my wants be well supply'd;

His providence and holy word,

Become my safety and my guide.

2 In pastures where salvation grows,
He makes me feed, he makes me rest;
There living water gently flows,
And all the food divinely blest.
3 My wand'ring feet his ways mistake,
But he restores my soul to peace;
And leads me, for his mercy's sake,
In the fair paths of righteousness.
4 Tho' I walk thro' the gloomy vale,

1

Where death and all its terrors are;
My heart and hope shall never fail,
For God my Shepherd's with me there.

COME

HYMN 158. (c. M.)

God is Love.

OME ye that know and fear the Lord,
And lift your souls above;

Let ev'ry heart and voice accord

To sing that God is love.

2 This precious truth his word declares, And all his mercies prove, Jesus, the gift of gifts, appears

To shew that God is love.

3 Behold his patience lengthen'd out
To those who from him rove,
And calls effectual reach their heart,
To teach them God is love.

4 The work begun is carried on,
By power from heaven above;
And every step from first to last,
Proclaims that God is love.

5 Ye doubting souls, who full of fears,
The ways of God approve;
Dismiss your guilty fears, and come
Believe that God is love.

6 O may we all, while here below,
This best of blessings prove;
Till warmer hearts, in brighter worlds,
Shall shout, that God is love.

WITH

HYMN 159. (c. M.)

Jesus our High Priest.

ITH joy we meditate the grace
Of our High Priest above;

His heart is full of tenderness,
Of mercy, and of love.

2 Touch'd with a sympathy within,

He knows our feeble frame:

He knows what sore temptations mean,
For he has felt the same.

3 But spotless, innocent, and pure,
The great Redeemer stood;
While Satan's fiery darts He bore,
Resisting unto blood.

4 Then let our humble faith address
His mercy and his power;
We shall obtain deliv'ring grace
In the distressing hour.

HYMN 160. (C. M.)

Jesus, the Author and Finisher of Faith.

1 HAIL! Alpha and Omega hail!

Author of all our faith;

The finisher of all our hopes;

The Truth, the Life, the Path.
2 Hail first and last, the Morning Star!
In whom we live and move;
Increase our little spark of faith,
And purify our love.

3 0, let us go from strength to strength,
From grace to greater grace,

From one degree of faith to more,
Till we behold thy face.

4 Then will we praise Thy glorious name,
With all thy Saints above,
Ascribing honour to the Lamb,
For his eternal love.

1

HYMN 161. (P. M.)

Jesus our King.

HARK! ten thousand harps and voices
Sound the notes of praise above!
