Macbeth: The Graphic Novel: Original Text Version
Classical Comics, 2008 - Всего страниц: 144
This full colour graphic novel presents Macbeth just as Shakespeare intended: in its original and unabridged format. Ideal for purists, students and readers who will appreciate the unaltered text. Thought by many to be Shakespeare’s finest tragedy, it is brought to vibrant life in this full-colour graphic novel.
It's 11th century Scotland. Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, is one of King Duncan's greatest war captains. Upon returning from a battle with the rebellious Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth and Banquo encounter three witches, who prophecy that Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor and then King. As with all our Shakespeare titles the period is faithful to the Bard’s intentions, and there is a choice of three text versions. The print versions also feature fascinating insights into the background of the play and of the real king Macbeth.

A graphic novel take on a wonderful play. I like that they used the original text, but the graphic component adds nothing to the work. Not a lot of reason to get this rather than just reading the play and then watching a real live production or movie of it. Читать весь отзыв
