YE Christian heralds, go, proclaim
Salvation in Immanuel's name;
To distant climes the tidings bear,

And plant the rose of Sharon there. 2 He'll shield you with a wall of fire

With holy zeal your hearts inspire ;
Bid raging winds their fury cease,
And calm

the savage breast to peace. 3 And when our labors all are o'er,

Then shall we meet to part no more ;
Meet-with the blood-bought throng to fall,
And crown our Jesus-Lord of all.

Subjection of the Nations to Christ prayed for.
WHEN shall the voice of singing

Flow joyfully along?
When hill and valley, ringing

With one triumphant song,
Proclaim the contest ended,

And him, who once was slain,
Again to earth descended,

In righteousness to reign?
2 Then from the craggy mountains

The sacred shout shall fly;
And shady vales and fountains

Shall echo the reply..
High tower and lowly dwelling

Shall send the chorus round,
All hallelujah swelling,

In one eternal sound!

Love and Devotion to the Church.
I LOVE thy kingdom, Lord,

The house of thine abode,
The church our blest Redeemer saved

With his own precious blood. 2 I love thy church, O God!

Her walls before thee stand,
Dear as the apple of thine eye,

And graven on thy hand. 3 For her my tears shall fall;

For her my prayers ascend;
To her my cares and toils be given,

Till toils and cares shall end. 4 Beyond my highest joy

I prize her heavenly ways,
Her sweet communion-solemn vows,

Her hymns of love and praise. 5 Jesus, thou friend divine,

Our Saviour, and our King,
Thy hand from every snare and foe,

Shall great deliverance bring. 6 Sure as thy truth shall last,

To Zion shall be given
The brightest glories earth can yield,

And brighter bliss of heaven.

Universal Reign of Christ.
HASTEN, Lord, the glorious time,

When, beneath Messiah's sway,
Every nation, every clime,

Shall the gospel call obey.

2 Mightiest kings his power shall own,

Heathen tribes his name adore; Satan and his host, o'erthrown,

Bound in chains, shall hurt no more. 3 Then shall wars and tumults cease,

Then be banished grief and pain; Righteousness, and joy, and peace,

Undisturbed shall'ever reign. 4 Bless we, then, our gracious Lord,

Ever praise his glorious name; All his mighty acts record,

All his wondrous love proclaim.

Rejoicing in Christ's Reign. HARK!—the song of jubilee,

Loud-as mighty thunders roar; Or the fulness of the sea,

When it breaks upon the shore2 See Jehovah's banners furled!

Sheathed his sword :-he speaks—'tis

done! Now the kingdoms of this world

Are the kingdom of his Son. 3 He shall reign from pole to pole,

With supreme, unbounded sway: He shall reign, when, like a scroll,

The Blessedness of Christ's Reign.
HAIL to the Lord's anointed!

Great David's greater Son;
Hail in the time appointed,

His reign on earth begun!
He comes to break oppression,

To set the captive free,
To take away transgression,

And rule in equity.

Upon the fruitful earth,
And love, and joy, like flowers,

Spring in his path to birth :
Before him on the mountains,

Shall peace, the herald, go,
And righteousness, in fountains,

From hill to valley flow.
3 For him shall prayer unceasing,

And daily vows ascend;
His kingdom still increasing,

A kingdom without end:
The tide of time shall never

His covenant remove;
His name shall stand forever;
That name to us is—LOVE.
