2 For thou, within no walls confined,
Inhabitest the humble mind;
And going, take thee to their home. 3 Great Shepherd of thy chosen few!
Thy former mercies here renew;
Prayer for a Blessing on Preaching.
Quick and powerful let it prove ;
And thy people grow in love.
Follow it with power divine ;
Thine the work—the glory thine. 3 Saviour, bid the world rejoice,
Send, oh send thy truth abroad!
Hear it, and return to God.

Sanctifying Influence of the Truth sought.
And I would fain obey;
To guide me, lest I stray. 2 Oh! who can ever find
The error of his ways?
I'would not dare transgress.
3 Warn me of every sin,
Forgive my secret faults,
Whose crimes exceed my thoughts. 4 While with my heart and tongue,
I spread thy praise abroad,
Delight in the Worship of the Sabbath.
Thy glorious name to sing ;
And grateful offerings bring 2 Sweet—at the dawning light,
Thy boundless love to tell ;
Still on the theme to dwell. 3 Sweet-on this day of rest,
To join in heart and voice,
And in thy name rejoice. 4 To songs of praise and joy
Be every Sabbath given,
Eternally in heaven.
DISMISS us with thy blessing, Lord;
All that has been amiss forgive,
And let thy truth within us live. 2 Though we are guilty, thou art good;
Wash all our works in Jesus' blood;
And bid us all depart in peace. 329
8s, 78 & 4. LORD, dismiss us with thy blessing ;
Fill our hearts with joy and peace! Let us, each thy love possessing, Triumph in redeeming grace:
Oh refresh us, Travelling through this wilderness. 2 Thanks we give, and adoration,
For thy gospel's joyful sound;
May thy presence
Us from earth to call away,
May we ever
And the Father's boundless love,
Rest upon us from above. 2 Thus may we abide in union
With each other, and the Lord,
8s & 7s.
And possess, in sweet communion,
Joys which earth cannot afford.
GOD of our salvation, hear us;
Bless, oh bless us, ere we go; When we join the world, be near us, Lest we cold and careless grow:
Saviour, keep usKeep us safe from every foe. 2 May we live in view of heaven,
Where we hope to see thy face ; Save us from unhallowed leaven, All that might obscure thy grace;
Keep us walking Each in his appointed place. 3 As our steps are drawing nearer
To the place we call our home,
And, when dying,
Benediction and Doxology JESUS, on thy people shine!
Warm our hearts and tune our tongues ! That with angels we may join,
Share their bliss and swell their songs. Glory, honor, praise, and power, Lord, be thine for evermore!
UNIVERSAL DIFFUSION OF THE GOSPEL.

State and Prospects of the Heathen. HARK !—what mean those lamentations,
Rolling sadly through the sky ? 'Tis the cry of heathen nations
“Come, and help us, or we die !"
Christians, hear their dying cry;
Join to help them, ere they die. 334
From India's coral strand,
Roll down their golden sand;
From many a palmy plain,
Their land from error's chain. 2 What though the spicy breezes
Blow soft o'er Ceylon's isle-
And only man is vile ? -
The gifts of God are strown; The heathen, in his blindness,
Bows down to wood and stone. 3 Shall we, whose souls are lighted
By wisdom from on high
