COME, gracious Lord_descend and dwell By faith and love in every breast; Then shall we know, and taste, and feel The joys that cannot be expressed. 2 Come, fill our hearts with inward strength, Make our enlarged souls possess, And learn the height, and breadth, and length, Of thine eternal love and grace. 3 Now to the God whose power can do More than our thoughts and wishes know, Be everlasting honors done By all the church, through Christ his Son. S. M. 268 Prayer for quickening Grace. The promise calls me near; And waits to answer prayer. Thy presence and thy love: And reign with thee above. Conform my will to thine ; And then in glory shine. And fainting hope almost expires, To thee I breathe my soul's desires. 2 If my immortal Saviour lives, Then my immortal life is sure : Here I may build—and rest secure. 3 Here, O my soul, thy trust repose: If Jesus is forever mine, Shall break a union so divine.
