us these precious blessings, and let our hearts ever be filled with gratitude towards thee for all thy benefits. Congregation.-O Lord our God, we praise thee for all thy benefits

Minister.-Pity, O Lord, we beseech thee, those who are not so highly favoured as we are, and enable us truly to sympathise with them. O Lord, condescend in thy compassion and love, to visit all those who are in distress and affliction of any kind. O may they be supported in their trials, and be sanctified by them; and may it please thee speedily to favour them, according to their respective circumstances, with the blessings of health, of supplies, of peace, and of enjoyment.

Congregation.-O Lord, have mercy on all who are in distress and affliction, and do thou speedily send them deliverance.

Minister. O Lord our Heavenly Father, we bless and magnify thy Name, for the precious Volume of Divine Revelation. Enable us, O our God, to be truly thankful for this inestimable benefit. May we read and study thy Holy Word with all constancy, and with all godly attention; and may we meditate on its sacred contents by day and by night. O Lord, vouchsafe unto us a clear and a full knowledge of that salvation which thy word unfolds. O may we live under the influence and in the enjoyment of this salvation all our days, and at last may we fully enjoy it in the mansions of glory.

Congregation.-O Lord, may we meditate on thy Word day and night, and may we enjoy its promises in time and in eternity.

Minister-All Gracious Father, we thank thee for the institution of the Christian Sabbath, and for appointing thy people to assemble together on thy day to worship thee. We adore thy name, O our God, for graciously promising to be present with thy people when they meet together according to thy command

ment. O Lord, do thou now fulfil unto us thy gracious promise. Bless us this day in reading, in expounding, and in hearing thy Holy Word. Bless us in making our supplications at thy Throne of Grace, and bless us in singing thy praise. May our hearts be truly engaged in every part of our services in thy house of prayer this day, and may we be greatly instructed, and strengthened, and comforted in our waiting upon thee.

Congregation.-O Lord, we praise thy name for the Christian Sabbath. Graciously be with us, and bless us in waiting upon thee on this thy day.

Minister. O God, be present this day in all the Assemblies of thy Saints. Instruct and edify all thy people, and fill them with peace and joy in the Lord. Pour out a large measure of thy Spirit, we beseech thee, O Lord, upon all thy Servants whom thou hast appointed to feed, and to watch over thy flocks. May they feed them with the wholesome doctrines and precepts of Jesus Christ, and may they be patterns to their flocks, in a holy, righteous, and godly life, and in zeal for thy honour and glory. Hear, O Lord, the mutual supplications of thy people for each other this day, and may all thy disciples love one another with a pure heart. Grant, O God, that many sinners may be converted unto thee on this sacred day, and may they be added to the churches, and rejoice with thine inheritance. O Lord, may there indeed be joy in heaven, and joy on earth, this day over repenting

sinners.

Congregation.-O Lord, bless all the assemblies of thy saints. May thy people be greatly edified, and may many sinners be converted on this thy day.

Minister. O God Almighty, the God of Truth, of Peace, and of Love, graciously behold thy Church in its low estate, and be pleased to exalt it. Heal, O Lord, the infirmities of thy church and people; pity our darkness, and enlighten us; compassionate our

weakness, and strengthen us: forgive all our pride, and give us true humility of mind; and in searching after Truth, grant us a clear and candid understanding, and a heart learned in sincerity and uprightness. O Lord our God, put an end, we entreat thee, to the strifes and divisions among thy people, and combine us all in a holy unanimity, that the world may believe in thy Son Jesus Christ, to the glory, O Father, of thy Ever Blessed and Adorable Name.

Congregation.-O God, unite all thy people in a blessed oneness in the church and kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Minister.-Almighty God, thou hast promised to give to thy Son Jesus Christ the whole world for an inheritance, and an everlasting possession. Thou hast said that all nations shall serve and obey him, and that in his reign righteousness, and peace, and happiness shall prevail over the earth. Fulfil, O Lord, thy gracious promises: bless all thy Servants who are labouring at home and abroad to extend the Kingdom of Christ: prosper all Institutions formed for this sacred purpose: and send more labourers into thy harvest, in our own country, and in every part of the world.

Congregation.-O Lord God, may the happy reign of Christ our Saviour be gloriously established in our own land, and in all the earth.

Minister.-O Lord, our God and Father, we again intreat thee to impress on all our minds, and more and more deeply, the all-important truth, that Jesus Christ is the only Saviour of sinners, and that it is alone through his Atoning Sacrifice and Mediation that we can enjoy thy blessing here, and thy blessing hereafter. O Lord, pour out abundantly upon one and all of us thy Holy Spirit, to guide us into all truth in Christ, and to work in us all holiness of heart and of life, that so we may be true and faithful servants of Jesus Christ our Master and Lord. Thus,

O our God, may we glorify thee through all our pilgrimage in this world, and may we always enjoy thy favour, for thy favour is better than life. And, O Blessed Father, when thou art pleased to take us out of this world, receive us, we beseech thee, into the mansions of glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Congregation.-O Lord, instruct and sanctify us continually, and may we ever rest all our hopes of salvation on the merits of Jesus Christ who died for us.

Minister.-Almighty God, we have now poured out our hearts in confessions before thee; we have offered up our thanksgiving unto thee for all thy benefits; and have presented our supplications at thy mercy seat, for pardon, righteousness, and life eternal. We adore thee, O our Father, for a Throne of Grace, and for this opportunity of coming to thee; and now, we beseech thee, that thou wouldest graciously hear all these our prayers; and, O be pleased to bestow upon us thy peace, and thy smile, and thy blessing, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Intercessor, our only Lord and Saviour.

Congregation.-O Lord, accept of us, and bless us, in Jesus Christ, our only Lord and Saviour.

Minister.-O Lord God our heavenly Father, make the light of thy countenance to shine upon us, at this time, and for ever and ever: Amen. Congregation-Amen, and amen.

[All standing.]

Minister.-Let us again sing to the praise and the glory of God.- [The hymn to be named, and the two first lines pronounced, as before.]

1. Rejoice, the Lord is King!
The Prince of Life adore;
O Zion shout and sing,
And triumph evermore :

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say rejoice.

2. Jesus the Saviour reigns;
The God of truth and love;
When he had purged our sins,
He took his seat above:

Lift up your heart, lift
up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say rejoice.

3. He sits at God's right hand,
Till all his foes submit,

And bow at his command,

And fall beneath his feet:

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say rejoice.

4. He all our foes shall quell,
Shall death itself destroy;
And all his people fill,

With pure, celestial joy :

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say rejoice.

5. Rejoice in glorious hope,
Jesus the Judge shall come,
And take his servants up,
To their eternal home:

We soon shall hear the archangel's voice;

The trump of God shall sound,

[Still standing.]

Rejoice!'

Minister. In the view of Reading and Hearing God's Holy Word,-Let us Pray.

Minister.-Almighty God, we praise and adore thee for that Revelation of thy will which thou hast given us in the Holy Scriptures. O Lord, enable us greatly to esteem and to prize this precious and inesti
