The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of his grace.
2 My gracious Master and my God, Assist me to proclaim,
And spread through all the earth abroad The honors of thy name.
3 Jesus-the name that calms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease; 'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
"Tis life, and health, and peace. 4 He breaks the sinner's heavy chain; He sets the prisoner free;
His blood removes the guilty stain- His blood availed for me.
5 Believe-and ye his grace shall know, Shall feel your sins forgiven, Anticipate your heaven below, And own that love is heaven. 168 Pardon and Peace. Matt. ix. 2. 1 MY Saviour, let me hear thy voice
Pronounce the word of peace, And all my warmest powers shall join To celebrate thy grace.
2 With gentle smiles call me thy child, And speak my sins forgiven; The accents mild shall charm my ear Like the sweet harps of heaven.
3 Cheerful, where'er thy hand shall lead, The darkest path I'll tread; Cheerful I'll quit these mortal shores, And mingle with the dead.
4 When dreadful guilt is done away, No other fears we know;
That hand which scatters pardons down Shall crowns of life bestow.

The Saviour.
1
THE HE Saviour-oh, what endless charms Dwell in the blissful sound! Its influence every fear disarms, And spreads sweet peace around.
2 Here pardon, life, and joys divine In rich effusion flow,
For guilty rebels lost in sin, And doomed to endless wo. S Th' almighty Former of the skies Stooped to our vile abode; While angels viewed with wondering eyes, And hailed the incarnate God!
4 Oh the rich depths of love divine, Of bliss a boundless store! Dear Saviour, let me call thee mine, I cannot wish for more.
5 On thee alone my hope relies; Beneath thy cross I fall; My Lord, my Life, my Sacrifice, My Saviour, and my All.
The Plan of Salvation.
1
170 THE THE mighty frame of glorious grace, That brightest monument of praise That e'er the God of love designed, Employs and fills my laboring mind. 2 Begin, my soul, the heavenly song, A burden for an angel's tongue : When Gabriel sounds these awful things, He tunes and summons all his strings. 3 Proclaim inimitable love;
Jesus, the Lord of worlds above, Puts off the beams of bright array, And vails the God in mortal clay. 4 He that distributes crowns and thrones Hangs on a tree, and bleeds and groans! The Prince of life resigns his breath, The King of glory bows to death! 5 But see the wonders of his power, He triumphs in his dying hour; And while by Satan's rage he fell, He dashed the rising hopes of hell. 6 Thus were the hosts of death subdued, And sin was drowned in Jesus' blood; Then he arose, and reigns above, And conquers sinners by his love.
God Reconciled in Christ.
1 DEAREST of all the names above, My Jesus and my God- Who can resist thy heavenly love, Or trifle with thy blood? 2 'Tis by the merits of thy death The Father smiles again; 'Tis by thine interceding breath The Spirit dwells with men. 3 Till God in human flesh I see,
My thoughts no comfort find; The holy, just, and sacred Three
Are terrors to my mind.
4 But if Immanuel's face appear, My hope, my joy begins; His name forbids my slavish fear, His grace removes my sins.
5 While Jews on their own law rely, And Greeks of wisdom boast, I love th' incarnate mystery, And there I fix my trust.

Invocation of the Holy Spirit.
1 COME, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, With all thy quickening powers; Kindle a flame of sacred love In these cold hearts of ours.
2 Look how we grovel here below, Fond of these trifling toys; Our souls can neither fly nor go, To reach eternal joys.
3 In vain we tune our formal songs, In vain we strive to rise; Hosannas languish on our tongues, And our devotion dies.
4 Dear Lord-and shall we ever live At this poor dying rate,
Our love so faint, so cold to thee, And thine to us so great?
5 Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, With all thy quickening powers; Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love, And that shall kindle ours.
Reviving Influence.
COME, Holy Spirit, come ; Let thy bright beams divine Rise on our sorrow and our gloom, And in our darkness shine.
Convince us all of sin, Then lead to Jesus' blood; And to our wondering view reveal The mercy of our God.
Revive our drooping faith; Our doubts and fears remove; And kindle in our breasts the flame Of never-dying love.
4 'Tis thine to cleanse the heart, To sanctify the soul, Το pour fresh life in every part, And new create the whole.
Divine Illumination.
HOLY OLY Ghost-dispel our sadness, Pierce the clouds of nature's night; Come, thou source of joy and gladness, Breathe thy life and spread thy light.
2 Hear, oh hear our supplication, Blessed Spirit, God of Peace; Rest upon this congregation, With th' abundance of thy grace.
3 Author of our new creation
Bid us all thine influence prove; Make our souls thy habitation;
Shed abroad the Saviour's love.

Regeneration. John i. 13.
1 Norites that God has given, all the outward forms on earth,
Nor will of man, nor blood, nor birth, Can raise a soul to heaven. 2 The sovereign will of God alone Creates us heirs of grace; Born in the image of his Son, A new, peculiar race.
3 The Spirit, like some heavenly wind. Breathes on the sons of flesh; New models all the carnal mind, And forms the man afresh.
4 Our quickened souls awake and rise From the long sleep of death; On heavenly things we fix our eyes, And praise employs our breath. 176 The Operations of the Holy Spirit. 1 ETERNAL Spirit, we confess
And sing the wonders of thy grace; Thy power conveys our blessings down, From God the Father and the Son. 2 Enlightened by thy heavenly ray,
Our shades and darkness turn to day; Thine inward teachings make us know Our danger and our refuge too. 3 Thy power and glory work within, And break the chains of reigning sin; Do our imperious lusts subdue, And form our wretched hearts anew.
4 The troubled conscience knows thy voice; Thy cheering words awake our joys; Thy words allay the stormy wind, And calm the surges of the mind. 177 Renewing Grace. 1 HOW helpless guilty nature lies,
load!
The heart, unchanged, can never rise To happiness and God.
2 Can aught, beneath a power divine, The stubborn will subdue?
