Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the

Spirit,

He cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

August 26

If thou knewest the gift of God,

And who it is that saith to thee,

Give me to drink;

Thou wouldest have asked of him,

-John 3: 5.

shall give him

Shall never thirst;

But the water that I shall give him
Shall be in him a well of water

Springing up into everlasting life.

In the last day,

That great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried, saying,

-John 4: 13-14.

If any man thirst,

Let him come unto me,

And drink.

Then remembered I the word of the Lord,
How that he said,

John indeed baptised with water;

But ye shall be baptised with the Holy Ghost.
