bly to our knowledge. Suffer us not to be of the number of them who profess that they know God with their mouths, but deny Him with their deeds; but make us rather like unto that good and fruitful land which yieldeth again her seed with great increase, that men seeing our Christian lives, may glorify Thee, our Heavenly Father. And give us grace, O Lord, ever to remember that we, who have met together this day in Thy worship, as part of Thy family here on earth, shall, if faithful unto the end, meet again in the family of Thy redeemed in Heaven. Give us, gracious Saviour, in the comforts of Thy worship here, a foretaste of that which we shall pay Thee before Thy throne; that while we now together drink of the cup of Thy grace and consolation, we may ever be thinking of that blessed time, when we shall drink it new with Thee in the kingdom of Heaven. Amen.

Our Father, etc. The grace, etc.

MONDAY MORNING.
MORNING.

Now that the day-light fills the sky,
We lift our hearts to God on high,
That He in all we do or say

May keep us free from harm to-day.

May He restrain our tongues from strife, And shield from anger's din our life; And guard, with watchful care, our eyes From earth's absorbing vanities.

pure,

O may our inmost hearts be
From thoughts of folly kept secure ;

And pride of sinful flesh subdued
Through thankful use of daily food.

So we, when this day's work is o'er
And shades of night return once more,
Our path of trial safely trod,

Shall give the glory to our God.

Monday Morning.

Who is like unto the Lord our God who dwelleth on high, who humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in Heaven, and in the earth!-Ps. cxiii. 5, 6.

Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend up into Heaven, Thou art there; If I make

my bed in hell, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me.-Ps. cxxxix. 7-10.

The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.-Ps. cxviii. 14.

Leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.-Ps. xxvii. 9.

THOU that hearest prayer; and hast promised to forgive those who confess

their sins unto Thee, hear our prayers, we beseech Thee, and hearken unto the confessions of Thy servants.

O Lord God, we confess that our eyes have been often open to let in sin; that our ears have been often ready to receive sinful discourses; that we have often let loose our tongues; that we have defiled our hearts, Thy holy temples; that we have wasted our talents, that we have been cold in devotion, soon weary of our prayers, dull and heavy in the ways to heaven, but quick and active in the ways of sin. But we desire to repent, O our God; be Thou merciful to us.

Glory be to Thee, O Lord! Glory be to Thee, who hast promised to hear our prayers, and hast given us grace to draw nigh unto Thee with contrite hearts and a humble spirit.

Remember, O Lord, that we are the work of Thy hands, the members of Thy Son, the children of Thy Grace, the heirs of Thy Kingdom; have mercy upon us, O God, according to Thy loving kindness, and according to the multitude of Thy

mercies blot out our transgressions. Let Thy Holy Spirit so accompany and follow us this day, that we may believe in Thee, and love Thee, and keep Thy commandments, and continue in Thy fear all the day long. Glory be to Thee, Lord God Almighty! Glory be to Thee, for renewing Thy mercies to us every morning; for refreshing us the night past with sleep, and for preserving us from the perils of darkness. And O Almighty and immortal God, the aid of all that need, the helper of all that flee to Thee for succour, the life of them that believe, and the resurrection of the dead, we pray Thee that Thou wouldest be pleased to raise us all from the death of sin to the life of righteousness, and to make us a household honouring Thy Holy Name and obedient unto Thy Word. Receive us, O Lord, as Thou hast promised by Thy well-beloved Son : give unto us that ask; let us that seek, find; open the gate unto us that knock; that we, being
