3 By Languor, Grief and Care oppress’d,
While Groans perpetual heave my Breast,
Beholds the Winter of its Year. 4 Hence ye Profane :-My Saviour hears ;
While yet I speak, he wipes my Tears ; Accepts my Pray’r and bids each Foe With Shame, their vain Attempts forego, And, struck with Horror from on high, In wild Disorder backward fly.
Save me, LORD, and to my Foes
Do Thou (in Thee I trust) oppose Thy Pow'r; and let the Arm divine
Stretch'd in my Cause, bespeak me thine. 2 My God, if Truth their Censure guide,
If Guilt be in my Facts descried,
And Earth's dark Womb my Glory shade. 3 Rise, mightiest LORD, triumphant rise,
O’er each whose Hand thy Pow'r defies ;
And vindicate thy Ways to Men. 4.0 Thou whose strictly searching Eye
The Heart and inmoft Reins can try ;
5 Th' impartial Judge, whose Eyes each Day
Cast o'er the Earth their ftri&t Survey :
He makes the faithful Heart his Care. 6 If Man his Law refuse to know,
He whets his Sword, He bends his Bow,
Ordain'd to pierce th' Oppressor's Heart. 7 Thy Truth, O LORD, shall on my Breast
In sweet Remembrance stand imprest;

Lord, our God, how wond'rous great The Glories of thy heav'nly State
Let Men and Babes proclaim.
2 When I behold thy Works on high,
The Moon that rules the Night, And Stars that well adorn the Sky,
Those moving Worlds of Light : 3 Lord, what is Man, or all his Race,
Who dwells so far below, That Thou should'st visit him with Grace,
And love his Nature so !
4. That thy eternal Son should bear
To take a mortal Form,
To save a dying Worm!
5 Let Him be crown’d with Majesty,
Who bow'd his Head to Death: And be his Honours founded high,
By all Things that have Breath. .
Is thine exalted Name!
Let the whole Earth proclaim,
MMORTAL KING! through Earth's wide Frame
great thy Honour, Praise, and Name ! From Infants Thou canst strength upraise,
And form their lifping Tongues to praise.
I view the Wonders of the Sky;
In rich Magnificence have spread : 3
The silent Moon, with waxing Horn,
That nightly walk their destin'd Round. 4 LORD! what is Man, that in thy Care
His humble Lot should find a Share !
Thus to his Wants, thine Ear fhould't bow 5 His Rank awhile, by thy Decree,
Th’angelic Tribes beneath them see,
6 IMMORTAL KING! through Earth's wide Frame
How great thy Honour, Praise, and Name !
T I wil my Heart prepare ;
O celebrate thy Praise, O LORD,
Heart prepare ;
Thy wondrous Works declare.
Exalted Pleafures bring ;
Triumphant Praise I fing.
Against oppressing Rage;
In our Behalf engage.
Will on his Truth confide;
That on his Help rely’d.
From Sion his Abode,
Confess no other God.
HY doth the LORD ftand off so far?
And why conceal his Face, When great Calamities appear,
And Times of deep Distress?
2 LORD, shall the Wicked ftill deride
Thy Justice and thy Pow'r ?
And still thy Saints devour ?
And then insult the Poor ;
That they shall fall no more.
Attend our humble Cry; No Enemy shall dare to itand
When God ascends on High.
And caute thine Ear to hear ;
And puts the World in Fear.
No more despite the Just;
They are but Earth and Dust.
Y Refuge is the God of Love;
Foes insult and cry Fly like a tim'rous trembling Dove; " To distant Woods or Mountains fly?” 2 If Government be all destroy'd, (That firm Foundation of our Peace) And Violence make Justice void, Where shall the Righteous feek Redress?
