There is a river deep and broad
There is a fountain fill'd with blood
There is a house not made with hands
There is a land of living joy
This God is the God we adore
This is the day the Lord hath made
This is the day, the Lord's own day..
Though nature's strength decay
Thou dear Redeemer, dying Lamb..
Thou God of glorious majesty

Thou hidden love of God, whose height
Thou only Sovereign of my heart.
Thou only source of true delight
Thon very paschal Lamb

Thus far the Lord has led me on
Thy people, Lord, have ever found
Thy piercing eye, O God, surveys
Thy word, O God, supports my

faith.

"Tis false: thou vile accuser; go
""Tis finish'd," the Redeemer said
"Tis finish'd, 'tis done! the spirit is fled

'Tis my happiness below

'Tis not too arduous an essay

"Tis past-the dreadful stormy night

To-day God bids the faithful rest.

Together with these symbols, Lord
To God the only wise

To-morrow, Lord, is thine
To thee, my God, I hourly sigh
To thee our wants are known
To thee, Almighty God, we bring
To thee, O God, to thee belongs.

We are a garden wall'd around
We bless the Prophet of the Lord

away mind

When all thy mercies, O
When blooming youth is snatch'd
When darkness long has veil'd
When God is nigh, my faith is strong
When, gracious Lord, when shall it be
When I can read my title clear
When I survey the wondrous cross
When, O dear Jesus, when shall I
When with my mind devoutly prest
Whence those unusual bursts of joy
Where are
the mourners, says the Lord
While on the
verge of life I stand
While with ceaseless course the sun
Why do we mourn departing friends ..
Why, O my heart, these anxious cares
Why should I doubt his love at last
Why should I fear the darkest hour
Why was I made to hear thy voice
With all thy power, O Lord, defend
With all my powers of heart and tongue
With heart and lips unfeign'd

With joy we meditate the
With

grace

4 Agonizing in the garden,

Lo, your Maker prostrate lies!

B

On the bloody tree behold him,
cry before he dies,

Hear him

"It is finish'd."

Sinner, will not this suffice?
5 Lo! th' incarnate God ascended,
Pleads the merit of his blood;
Venture on him, venture freely,
Let no other trust intrude,
None but Jesus

Can do helpless sinners good.
6 Saints and angels, join'd in concert,
Sing the praises of the Lamb,
While the blissful seats of heaven
Sweetly echo with his Name.
Hallelujah!

Sinners here may do the same.

2. The Same.

1 SINNERS, obey the gospel-word, Haste to the supper of your Lord; Be wise to know your gracious day; All things are ready, come away. 2 Ready the Father is to own, And kiss his late-returning son; Ready the loving Saviour stands, And spreads for you his bleeding hands. 3 Ready the Spirit of his love,

Just now the stony heart to move; T' apply, and witness with the blood, And wash, and seal you sons of God. 4 Ready for you the angels wait, To triumph in your blest estate: Tuning their harps, they long to praise The wonders of redeeming grace. 5 Come then, ye sinners, to your Lord, To happiness in Christ restor❜d; His proffer'd benefits embrace, And taste the fulness of his

grace.

3. Weary Souls invited to Rest. 1 COME, weary soul, with sins distrest, The Saviour offers heavenly rest; The kind, the gracious call obey, And cast your gloomy fears away. 2 Oppress'd with guilt, a painful load, O come, and spread your woes abroad; Divine compassion, mighty love, Will all the painful load remove. 3 Here mercy's boundless ocean flows, To cleanse your guilt, and heal your woes, Pardon and life, and endless peace➡➡ How rich the gift! how free the grace! 4 Lord, we accept with thankful heart, The hope thy gracious words impart ; We come with trembling, yet rejoice, And bless the kind inviting voice. 5 Dear Saviour, let thy pow'rful love Confirm our faith, our fears remove, And sweetly influence ev'ry breast, And guide us to eternal rest.

4. The Saviour's Invitation. 1 THE Saviour calls,-let ev'ry ear Attend the heav'nly sound; Ye doubting souls, dismiss your fear, Hope smiles reviving round.

2 For ev'ry thirsty, longing heart,
Here streams of bounty flow,

And life and health, and bliss impart,
To banish mortal woe.

3 Here springs of sacred pleasure rise,
To ease your ev'ry pain,

(Immortal fountain! full supplies !)
Nor shall you thirst in vain.

4 Ye sinners, come, 'tis mercy's voice; i
The gracious call obey;
