DOBELL'S COLL.
2

MARRIOTZ.
Solemn Invocation.

Let there be Light. I POME, thou Almighty King,

1 Thou, whose Almighty word
Help us thy name to sing,

Chaos and darkness heard,
Help us to praise;

And took their flight!
Father all glorious,

Hear us, we humbly pray;
O'er all victorious,

And, where the Gospel day
Come, and reign over us,

Sheds not its glorious ray,
Ancient of days!

Let there be light.
2 Uome, thou all-gracious Lord ! 2 Thou, who didst come to bring,
By heaven and earth adored,

On thy redeeming wing,
Our prayer attend !

Healing and sight!
Come, and thy children bless;

Health to the sick in mind,
Give thy good word success;

Light to the inly blind,
Make thine own holiness

Oh now, to all mankind,
On us descend !

Let there be light!

3 Never from us depart;
Rule thou in every heart,

Hence, evermore !
Tiny sovereign majesty
May we in glory see,
And to eternity

Love and adore !

3 Descend thou from above,
Spirit of truth and love,

Speed on thy flight!
Move o'er the waters' face,
Spirit of hope and grace,
And, in earth's darkest place,

Let there be light!

Fill us with thy glorious power,
F. H. HEDGL.
Invocation.

Rooting out the seeds of sin. 1 SOV'REIGN and transforming Grace! 4 Nothing more can we require, We invoke thy quickening power;

We will covet nothing less;
Reign the spirit of this place,

Be thou all our heart's desire,
Bless the purpose of this hour.

Be our heaven, in holiness! 2 Holy and creative Light!

5 We invoke thy kindling ray;

Love to the Saviour. Dawn upon our spirits' night;

1 HARK, my soul, it is the Lord; Turn our darkness into day.

'Tis thy Saviour,-hear his word, 3 To tho anxious soul impart

Jesus speaks, he speaks to thee:Hope all other hopes above;

Say, poor wanderer, lov'st thou ne? Stir the dull and hardened heart

2 Lord, it is my chief complaint With a longing and a love.

That my love is still so faint, 4 Work in all, in all renew,

Yet I love thee and adore:
Day by day, the life divine;

O for grace to love thee more!
All our wills to thee subdue,

6

METHODIST COLLA All our hearts to thee incline.

Invocation. 4

C. WESLEY.

1 FATHER, at thy footstool see Seeking God.

Those who now are one in thee: 1 LIGHT of life, seraphic fire;

Draw us by thy grace alone;
Love divine, thyself impart:

Give, 0 give us to thy Son.
Every fainting soul inspire;

2 Jesus, friend of human kind, Enter every drooping heart:

Let us in thy name be joined;
Every mournful sinner cheer,

Each to each unite and bless;
Scatter all our guilty gloom;

Keep us still in perfect peace.
Father, in thy grace appear,
To thy human temples come.

3 Heavenly, all-alluring Dove,

Shed thy overshadowing love; 8 Come, in this accepted hour,

Love, the sealing grace, impart: Bring thy heavenly kingdom in; Dwell within our single heart

H WARE, JR
Come, Holy Spirit, come!

Invoking God's Aid. 2 Come as the light; to waiting minds 1 FATHER in heaven, to thee my heart That long the truth to know,

Would lift itself in prayer; Reveal the narrow path of right, Drive from my soul each earthly tho't, The way of duty show.

And show thy presence there. 3 Come as the fire; enkindle now 2 Each moment of my life renews The sacrificial flame,

The mercies of my Lord, Till our whole souls an offering be, Each moment is itself a gift In love's redeeming name.

To bear me on to God. 4 Come as the dew; on hearts that pine 3 0, help me break the galling bains Descend in this still hour,

This world round me has thrown. Till every barren place shall own Each passion of my heart subdve,

With joy thy quickening power. Each darling sin disown.
Ő Come as the wind, with rushing sound, 4 O Father, kindle in my breast
With Pentecostal grace;

A never-dying flame
And make the great salvation known, Of holy love, of grateful trust
Wide as the human race.

In thy almighty name. 8

C. WESLEY,

10 Divine Presence Implored.

Aid against Sin. 1 SEAK with us, Lord; thyself reveal, 1 ETERNAL Spirit, God of truth, While here on earth we rove;

Our contrite hearts inspire; speak to our hearts, and let us feel Revive the flame of heavenly love, The kindlings of thy love.

And feed the pure desire. 1 With thee conversing, we forget 2 Subdue the power of every sin, All toil, and time, and care;

Whate'er that sin may be, Labor is rest, and pain is sweet,

That we, with humble, holy heuri If thou art present there.

May worship only thee.
