. (1) The Things the Apostle speaks of as pleasing Men in, were doubtless such as were lawful ; that is, things not forbidden by any Law, and consequently indifferent. For if the Apostle had complied with the n in any other, if he had suited his Dostrive to their corrapt Humours, and allowed and indulged them in their sini, this would not have een for their profit, 'nor would he thereby have promoted their alvation, but the contrary.
