INTRODUCTORY REMARKS.

In offering this important work to any reader desiring to obtain knowledge I do so with a pure and strictly good feeling, as every one should entertain towards another, for the purpose of edifying one another in the seeming mysteries of Holy Writ, which are not, as supposed, mysteries, as the fault lies with ourselves, and not the scriptures. God has not caused them to be written and given unto man, with all explanations attached therein, to be a continual perplexity and vexation, but to direct and enlighten him and enable him to understand the position between himself and the rock from whence he has fallen, so that every one that reads may understand that God is willing to condescend to every individual man or woman who seeks him, without the aid of any worldly man as mediator betwixt himself and maker, for as every one has to bear the punishment for his own sins, so also must man obtain his own forgiveness, and no other person can interfere, as one is on the same equality with the other; but the result of our self-communion may be beneficially communicated to each other for edification; such is my present intention, which I will endeavour to explain in as simple a manner as possible, so that critics may muffle their arrows, for it is not the shell or wrapper but the kernel that is wrapped up that is the principle offered. With any religious sect or denomination I have nothing to do, no more than if such were not in existence. I shall keep strictly true to the great fundamental principles in Holy Writ, and continue it throughout. I know full well it will be at first sight with great numbers disbelieved, but I ask to disprove the facts mentioned, not to just simply say "I don't believe it, it is impossible; " so should I say if I maintained the ground I was always taught, but I found it sand, and crumbled away, and my faith fell, but I found other ground which I have built upon, and defy the falling down, and if any other person could behold what he is himself, and the distance he is from God, and acknowledge his fallen position, as succeeding pages will prove, he will commenee his justification, for it is one key to the opening of the whole scripture to his view. There are three keys that will unrol the whole of them,-sweep away all assumption and ridiculous superstition from the mind and thus do away with all poisonous weeds-believe God holy and blameless in every part and particular, and take it upon ourselves, is the way to humbleness before him who made man as pure as himself, but he kept not so, neither will he ever be so again until death has annihilated the whole entirety of the man. As soon as man beholds the great error in the translation of the meaning of the commencement of the bible (as understood at the present day) then will the bible be a new book to him, and he will delight to read and prize it, and not as hitherto, read and thrown aside, not understanding the contents, which are all important to him, for in casting the one aside, he thinketh not he casteth aside his maker, and what he is without him or his moral law, So also, in like manner; I most respectfully offer to the reader this work to throw a new light upon his mind, impressing upon him the most urgent necessity to give it his most attentive perusal and he will never repent the time he so occupied his thoughts; let them dive deep into those things without fear, they are a necessity, and God has given them unto us on that especial purpose, to hold communion between man and Maker, before death seals the gate of mercy, and then is the fate irrevocably fixed.

CREATION.

Genesis 1st.

MATERIAL BEFORE CREATION.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Moses in writing the history of creation some two thousand four hundred years after it, by the same spirit who created it, gives a dismal but brief account of what was before creation, but sufficient to know that our earth was without form and void of all living life or light, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and this deep was a substance of earth and water, having the appearance of water, and the spirit of God moved upon the face of it. Here is described the face of the deep and the face of the waters, showing what a width and depth of water and soil without life or form it must have been, considering that not only the earth, but heaven and all that in them is was made from out of it. In commencing this great work, God divides the material, the one part to form the heaven, and the other the earth, and made a firmament to keep the two portions apart, and becoming a world of themselves; the first portion forms the firmament around us, and is called by God Heaven, and made on the second day, so that the heaven that surrounds us is of the same material of earth and water, as this earth is, because the material that it was made from was taken forth before God had separated any dry land from the original deep, and finished it upon the second day, in the same manner is he did this earth on the third day, of which he records more fully in commencing
