VICISSITUDES OF GREAT FAMILIES.

As highest hilles with tempests be most touched,
And tops of trees most subject unto winde
And as great towers with stones strongly couched,
Have heavy falls when they be undermynde,
E'en so by proofe in worldly thinges we finde,
That such as clime the top of high degree,
From perill of falling never can be free.
