Of choosing or finding the Pfalm. The perusal of the whole book will a quaint every reader with the author's m thod; and by consulting the Index at 1 end, he

Of dividing the Psalms. If the Pfalm be too long for the time or custom of singing, there are paafes in many of them, at which you may properly reft; ör, you may leave out' those verses which are incluided in crotchets [], without di. furbing the sense: or in fome plates you may begin to fing at the pause.

Do not always confine yourselves to six stanzas, bat fing feven or eight, rather than confound the fenfe, and abuse the Pfalin in fclemin Worthip.
