IN issuing the one hundredth volume of the Family Library, we take the liberty of offering a few remarks, such as naturally suggest themselves at this interesting stage of our undertaking. It is just ten years since we first announced our design in relation to this library, and since we commenced its publication. During the whole of this period we have been cheered on in the prosecution of our work by the uniform ap. probation and kindness of the press; and, through the liberal and yearly increasing patronage of an enlightened public, we have been enabled steadily to advance with it, until it has attained to its present magnitude.
