graphical Memoir, as illustrative of the Author's character, did not, for the most part, appear to the Editor worthy of permanently occupying a place among the productions of the Poet. The Translations are omitted for a different reason; as belonging, together with the Homer, to a distinct portion of Cowper's Works. An exception has, however, been made in favour of the elegant Versions of VINCENT BOURNE'S Poems, of which the entire Collection will be found in the present Volume.

Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments;

OR,

A DICTIONARY AND ALPHABETICAL INDEX TO THE BIBLE: Very useful to all Christians who seriously read and study the Inspired Writings.

IN TWO PARTS.

Containing, 1. The APPELLATIVE or COMMON Words in so full and large a Manner, that any Verse may be readily found by looking for any material Word in it. In this part the various Significations of the principal Words are given; by which the true Meaning of many Passages of Scripture is shewn: an Account of several Jewish Customs and Ceremonies is also added, which may serve to illustrate many Parts of Scripture. 2. The PROPER NAMES in the Scriptures. To this part is prefixed a TABLE, containing the Significations of the Words in the Original Languages from which they are derived.

TO WHICH IS ADDED,

A CONCORDANCE TO THE BOOKS CALLED APOCRYPHA. The whole digested in an easy and regular Method; which, together with the various SIGNIFICATIONS and other Improvements now added, renders it more useful than any book of the kind hitherto published.

BY ALEXANDER CRUDEN, M. A.

The Seventh Edition, each Text being carefully examined, and corrected by the Scriptures. Containing not only the SIGNIFICATIONS, but the ACCENTUATION and PRONUNCIATION of the PROPER NAMES; and, including a COMPENDIUM of the BIBLE, and a Brief Account of its History and Excellency.

With an enlarged and curious MEMOIR of the AUTHOR, from original and authentic sources, By the Rev. JABEZ BUNTING.

Price £2. 5. 0. in Boards; or in 15 Parts, at 3s. each.

The Report of a Decision of the Lord Chancellor in a case respecting this Work, December 1817, exhibits its merits in a more striking point of view, than any thing which can be said by the Publishers: by which it appears, that the PRESENT EDITION contains Improvements, Additions, and Corrections, to the amount of 6400, not noticed in any former one; and will be found to be the most correct, and, in every respect the best, ever offered to the Public.
