1 AWAKE, my soul, and with the sun
2 Wake, and lift up thyself, my heart,
3 Glory to Thee who safe hast kept,
4 Lord, I my vows to Thee renew,
Guard my first spring of thought and will, And with thyself my spirit fill.
5 Direct, control, suggest this day,
That all my powers, with all their might,
6 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
For the Morning of the Sabbath. (4.8 & 2. 6.)
2 Prosper this day thy sacred word,
And may we sin no more.
3 Then shall we hope, when Thou dost come To fix our everlasting doom,
To hear these joyful words,
'Go, join the heavenly choir, and sing 'Eternal praises to our King,
'Jehovah, Lord of lords.'

let us, with one accord,
Lift up our voice and praise the Lord;
2 Let universal nature raise
A cheerful voice to give Him praise;
3 For by His word the heavens were made, The earth's foundation also laid;
All things were done at His command,
4 Wherefore let heaven and earth
4. For God's blessing on the means of grace. (6.8.) 1 GREAT GOD! this sacred day of thine Demands the soul's collected powers; Gladly may we to Thee resign
