I fear no foe with Thee at hand to bless; Hold Thou Thy Cross before my closing eyes; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. Amen. WEDNESDAY. MORNING. In Summer. Fellow of the Father's light, Light of Light, and Day most bright, Christ, Thou stirrer of the heart, Would we were to life convert. Reach Thy hand that we may rise, Sing His praise, and singing say Tongue, and heart, and strength, and sense, Laud they Thy magnificence; Let Thy Spirit of Charity Stir us all to worship Thee. Glory to the Father be, To the Son give glory free, Henceforth and for evermore. Amen. In Winter. Night, and clouds in darkness sailing, Heaven's dark pall in sunder falleth, Thee, true Sun, alone adore we, Many a spot, our bosoms staining, To the Father lauds unending, To the Son and Spirit blest, Still from age to age ascending, Be throughout all worlds addrest. Amen. EVENING. Sun of my soul! Thou Saviour dear, When the soft dews of kindly sleep Be my last thought, how sweet to rest For ever on my Saviour's breast! Abide with me from morn till eve, If some poor wandering child of Thine Watch by the sick; enrich the poor Come near and bless us when we wake, We lose ourselves in heaven above. Praise to the Father, and the Son, And Holy Spirit, Three in One ; By all on earth and all in heaven. Amen. THURSDAY. MORNING. O timely happy, timely wise, Which evermore makes all things new! New every morning is the love Our wakening and uprising prove; New mercies, each returning day, New perils past, new sins forgiven, New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven. If on our daily course our mind Be set to hallow all we find, New treasures still of countless price God will provide for sacrifice. Only, O Lord, in Thy dear love To live more nearly as we pray. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. |
