Prayer. O God, of whose mercies there is no number, and of whose goodness the treasure is infinite; we humbly thank thee for the gifts thou hast bestowed upon us ; continue thy mercy to us, and give us so much of thy temporal blessings as thou knowest will be for our good. Grant that the fruits of the earth may, by thy holy blessing, increase and multiply ; defend them from all storms and tempests, and whatever else may be hurtful to them. 1 Prayer. O God, by whom kings reign, and the princes of the earth exercise their power; O God, who art the strength and support of those kingdoms that serve thee, mercifully hear our prayers, and defend thy servant George our King from all dangers; and grant that his safety may conduce to the peace and welfare of thy people, Thro', &c.

PRAYERS WHICH MAY BE SAID DURING THE
SACRIFICE OF THE MASS.
9 When the Priest begins Mass. I ACKNOWLEDGE and confess, O my God, that my iniquities render me unworthy to appear before thee; to assist at this awful and divine sacrifice. But entering into the spirit of the Church I implore thy inercy, and unite my prayers with those of thy Minister, in order to obtain through thy mercy the pardon of my sins.
Humbling myself therefore before thee and the whole court of heaven, and sensible of my unworthiness, I lay open my conscience to thee my God, and my supreme judge, who knowest the bottom of my heart; I confess before blessed Mary ever Virgin, St. Michael the Archangel, St. John the Baptist, the holy Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, that I have sinned and grievously transgressed; but I likewise declare in the presence of the heavenly Court, that
true and sincere repentance 1 detest all my sins, beseeching the Mother of Mercy, in whom after thee my God I place my entire confidence, and all the Saints in heaven, to join their prayers, with mine, that I may obtain forgiveness.
When the Priest goes up to the Altar. BLOT out all my iniquities I beseech thee, O Lord, that my heart being purified, I may approach to thy sanctuary, and worthily assist at
this divine sacrifice. I beg of thee this favor, for - the sake of thy saints and especially of those whose relicts are in this Altar, upon which the divine sacrifice is to be otfered to thee this day.
1 At the Introit and Kyrie Eleison. VOUCHSAFE then, dear Lord, to hear favorably
our prayers, and without regarding our iniquities, to enlighten our minds; kindle in our hearts the fire of thy divine love, to the end that we may be more worthy to assist at these sacred Mysteries. Suspend thy just indignation, and regarding thy beloved Son Jesus Christ, who is here ready to offer himself a sacrifice in our behalf, forget our offences, and so efface them that they may entirely disappear from thy divine sight.
With perfect confidence in thy infinite mercy, my God, and without fear of having my prayer rejected, I beg of thee through the merits, and in the pame of my Saviour Jesus Christ, to have pity on my soul, which thou hast created; take compassion on the work of thy hands; for. give me a guilty sinner, O merciful Judge, and pardon, the errors of a prodigal Child. Thou art my only hope, divine Saviour, my whole consolation, my strength, and my salvation.
9. At the Gloria in Excelsis. GLORY be to God in the highest heavens, and peace on earth to men of good will.
We praise thee, O Lord, we bless thee, we adore thee with all the sentiments that love, respect, and religion inspire. We desire to glorify thee, and to render thee our most bumble thanks in return for thy benefits. O father Almighty, supreme Monarch of heaven and earth --Adorable Jesus, only Son of, and consubstantial with the eternal Father, by what excess of love hast thou vouchsafed $o to humble thyself, as to become a victim, sacrificing thyself for our sins! O Lamb of God, who alone canst blot them out, have compassion on me, and froin thy highest throne, on which thou art seated at the right hand of the father, cast thy merciful eyes upon me! O Lord, only thou art iufinitely boly, infinitely powerful, ipfinitely above
