Miracles, and fure you will believe he knew the true ufe that was to be made of them.

A. There is no want of farther Authority, where we haye that of Chrift: But if you please let me alfo be remembred of what the Writers of Scriptures fay upon this head.

B. St. John then says xx. 30, 31. Many other Signs, tru ly did Jefus, in the Prefence of his Difciples, which are not written in this Book, (i. e. St. John's Gospel) but thefe are written that ye might believe, that Jefus is the Chrift, the Son of God, and that believing, Ye might have life in his name.

AЯs ii. 22. reports St. Peter's words to the Jews. Te Men of Ifrael, bear thefe words, Jefus of Nazareth, a Man approved of God, by Miracles and Wonders, and Signs, which God did by Him, in the midst of You, as Ye Your felves also know. You shall hear alfo what is faid of the Apostles, because it tends to the fame purpose, namely, that God intended to give their Doctrine (the fame that Chrift taught) Credit, by the Miracles he enabled them to work. Thus then St. Mark xvi. 20. they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word with Signs following.

Thus AЯs xiv. 3. Long time therefore abode they, Speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave Teftimony unto the word of his grace, and granted Signs and Wonders to be done by their hands. The Iffue was, that many believed on him, when they faw the Miracles he did, but a great many more believed not. When Elijah i Kings xvii. had restored by his Prayers the Woman's dead

Child to life again, she said, Now by this I know that thou art a Man of God, and that the Word of the Lord, in thy mouth, is truth. And thus St. John ii. 11. This beginning of Miracles did Jefus in Cana of Galilee, and manifefted forth his Glory, and his Difciples believed on Him. And vi. 14. Then thofe Men, when they had feen the Miracle that Jefus did, faid, this is, of a truth, that Prophet that should come into the World, i. e. they believed him to be the Chrift, as hath been before obferv'd. And ix. 32. Since the World began, was it not heard, that any Man opened the Eyes of one that was born blind; if this Man were
