AN ACT

For the relief of E. Rosewater.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska :

E. Rosewater.

SECTION 1. That the sum of one hundred and forty- Relief of two dollars and twenty-five cents is hereby appropriated for the payment of E. Rosewater, for papers and materials furnished, and labor performed.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from To take effect. and after its passage.

AN ACT

For the relief of J. E. Cramer.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

J. E. Cramer.

SECTION 1. That the sum of sixty dollars be, and the Relief of same is hereby appropriated to J. E. Cramer, as per diem and mileage, in payment for services on committee of investigation in case of the Nebraska institute for deaf and dumb, provided for in act approved, March 3d, 1873, and the state auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant to said J. E. Cramer for said amount.

Relicf of

O. B Hewitt

Funds appropriated.

AN ACT

For the relief of O. B. Hewitt, of Nemaha county.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska :

SECTION 1. That the state anditor is hereby authorized to draw his warrant, on the general fund of the treasury, in favor of O. B. Hewitt, for the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars, for services rendered as district attorney of the first judicial district, during the year 1872.

SEC. 2. The necessary funds to carry into effect the provisions of this act, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT

Relief of John K. Haz. zard.

For the relief of John K. Hazzard.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska :

SECTION 1. That the sum of five hundred dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the state treasury belonging to the permanent school fund, to John K. Hazzard, together with interest from the second day of June, 1870, being the amount of moneys received into the permanent school fund for the purchase price of a certain parcel of land sold by the county of Douglas as

school land, and which said land was not school land, but Auditor to the property of John K. Hazzard. The state auditor is hereby authorized and directed to draw warrants upon said fund in favor of said Hazzard so soon as said Hazzard shall present to the said auditor a certificate of the county commissioners of Douglas county, showing that he has conveyed by quit-claim deed the tract of land erroneously sold as aforesaid to the person to whom the same was sold.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from To take effect. and after the first day of July, A. D., 1875.

To provide for the relief of J. R. Merideth and George W. Homan, senior.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska: SECTION 1. That there be appropriated out of any Relief of moneys now in the treasury of the State of Nebraska, not and Geo. W. otherwise appropriated, the sum of six hundred and twenty-nine dollars and twelve cents. For J. R. Merideth, three hundred and ninety-three dollars and sixty cents; for George W. Homan, senior, two hundred and thirty-five dollars and fifty-two cents, being the amounts and interest thereon paid into the state treasury by the treasurer of the United States for the benefit of such per

Relief of
Asa Rathbun.

AN ACT

For the relief of Asa Rathbun, James Westcott, George Leamer, John Oaks, George T. Woods, Harlan Baird, and James Preston, of Dakota county.

Whereas, Judgment has been rendered in the district court of Dakota county in favor of the board of county commissioners of Dakota county, and against Asa Rathbun, James Wescott, George Leamer, John Oaks, George T. Woods, Harlan Baird, and James Preston, as sureties on the bond of Enos Keel, deceased, late treasurer of said county, for the sum total of nine thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine dollars and nine cents, which amount includes the sum of three thousand and seventeen dollars and twenty-three cents, due the State of Nebraska, with interest from October 13, 1873.

Therefore,

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the said Asa Rathbun, James Westcott, George Leamer, John Oaks, George T. Woods, Harlan Baird, and James Preston, sureties on the said bond of Enos Keel, deceased, shall be and the same are hereby released from the payment of said judgment to the extent of the sum of one thousand one hundred and fortytwo dollars and fifty-five cents due the state general fund, and five hundred and ten dollars and twenty-seven cents due the sinking fund, with-accrued interest thereon, and interest on all other state funds included in said judgment; and the said judgment against said sureties, to the extent herein provided for is hereby satisfied and discharged. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to satisfy or

discharge any other portion of said judgment, or release

the estate of said Enos Keel from the satisfaction thereof

in the manner provided by law.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from To take effect.

SECTION 1. That the sum of thirty-five dollars and fifty-one cents be and the same hereby is appropriated out of the general fund for the relief of John Rath for papers furnished the state board of immigration.
