AN ACT.

Providing for the holding of courts in the counties of Madison
Pierce, and Anlelope.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That so much of section forty-eight (48), of chapter fourteen (14) of the general statutes of NeGen, Stat., 260. braska, entitled "Courts," as relates to Madison county, be stricken out, and that in lieu thereof, the following be inserted. That the time of holding the regular terms of the district court in said Madison county, shall be as follows, that is to say: On the first Wednesday after the second (2) Monday in June, and on the second Monday in November of each and every year.

SEC. 2. SEC. 3. That there be held a regular term of district court in Antelope county, on the first Thursday after the third Monday in August in each and every year.

To provide for a term of the district court in Wayne county, and an additional term in Dakota county, in the third judicial district of Nebraska.

That said board shall consist of the governor, the same. secretary of state, auditor, treasurer, and attorney-general of the state, who shall meet at the capitol of the state on the second Tuesday of March, June, September, and December of each year. SEC. 4. The said secretary of immigration shall be ex-officio secretary of the board, but shall have no vote upon any question; he shall be the custodian of all books, documents, and records of the board of immigration, and under the direction of said board, shall publish circulars and other documents; he shall answer all letters in reference to the state and her resources, and shall do and perform such acts as may be required of him by said board of immigration. Before entering upon the duties of his office, he shall give bonds in the sum of five thousand dollars for the faithful performance of his duties, which bond shall be approved by the governor and placed on file in the office of the secretary of state.

SEC. 5. The office of said secretary of immigration shall be at Omaha: Provided, Said city shall furnish for the use of said secretary a suitable office free of charge. In case said city neglect or refuse to provide said office as aforesaid, the secretary shall keep and maintain his office. in some city that will furnish said office as aforesaid, to be designated by the board, and the said office shall be the depository of the publications of the board and of such specimens of the agricultural products and manufactured articles of the several counties of the state, and such maps and views as shall illustrate the state; and said office shall be open during usual business hours of citizens and strangers.

SEC. 6. The said secretary shall receive, in regular quarterly payments, a salary of fifteen hundred dollars per annum, and the sum of five hundred dollars per annum, in full, for all incidental expenses of his office, including fuel, stationery, lights, postage, and traveling

expenses.
