CHAPTER 1.

AN ACT to amend sections four (4), six (6), and (9), of chapter II.,
of the Compiled Statutes of Nebraska, and to repeal said original
sections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That section four (4), of chapter two (2), of the Compiled Statutes of Nebraska be

amended as follows:

SEC. 4. The report of the Board, or so much Report of the thereof, as will not exceed four hundred pages of Agriculture. printed matter to be designated by the president and secretary, shall be printed annually by the state printer, and 5,000 copies thereof bound in cloth covers and delivered to the secretary of the state, the accounts thereof to be audited as other accounts for state printing are audited and paid out of any money appropriated for legislative printing. SEC. 2. That section six, of chapter two, be amended to read as follows:

SEC. 3. That section 9, of chapter 2, be amended to read as follows:

SEC. 9. (Annual Reports.) The secretary of said Horticultural Society shall make an annual report to the governor embracing the proceedings of the society, with a bill of items showing for what purpose any money appropriated was paid out for the past year, the general condition of horticultural interests throughout the state, together with the essays, statement of facts, and recommendations as he may deem useful, which report, not exceeding three hundred pages of printed matter, shall be printed annually by the state printer, and not to exceed 5,000 copies thereof, be bound in cloth covers and be delivered to the secretary of state, the accounts thereof to be audited as other accounts for state printing are audited, and paid out of any money appropriated for legislative printing.

SEC. 4. That said original sections four (4), six (6), and nine (9) herein amended be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 2.

AN ACT to recount the ballots cast for and against the legislative amendment on the 2d day of November, 1886, and to declare the result.

SECTION 1. That the county clerks of each county within the State are hereby required to ward to the secretary of the state on or before the 1st day of March, 1887, all the ballots and pollbook returned to the said clerk by the judges and clerks of the election held on the 2d day of November, 1886.

SEC. 2. The secretary and auditor of state, to-Inspecting gether with two senators to be appointed by the senate, and three members of the house of representatives, to be appointed by the house, shall constitute a board to inspect, count, and compare, and they shall open, count, and compare said ballots and poll-books so returned by the clerks of the various counties, and to transmit in writing to the governor their finding thereon, and declare the result on or before the 1st day of March, 1887.

SEC. 3. If upon the return of the report of said Proclamation. committee it shall appear that the legislative amendment was adopted according to law, the governor shall issue his proclamation to the effect that the same was adopted as an amendment to the constitution of this state.
