"The New Departure" is a new application of an old idea, namely that the way to learn to do a thing is to do it. On the other side of the cards are arranged certain absolute facts concerning Grammar, Spelliing, and Punctuation; sometimes of all three together. These cards are to be copied, for the purpose of learning at the same time to write and to spell correctly. This is the only useful way of learning to spell, and the knowledge of Grammar and Punctuation acquired in this way will be much more permanent than by the ordinary methods of the text-books.
