the one per cent. graduations shall have a length intermediate between the five per cent., and the five tenths per cent. graduations. Each five per cent. graduation shall be numbered, the number being placed on the left of the scale. The error at any point of the scale shall not exceed five tenths per cent.

Neck: The neck shall be cylindrical and the cylindrical shape shall extend at least 9 millimeters below the lowest and 9 millimeters above the highest graduation mark. The top of the neck shall be flared to a diameter of not less than 10 millimeters.

Bulb:-The capacity of the bulb up to the junction of the neck shall not be less than 45 cubic centimeters. The shape of the bulb may be either cylindrical or conical with the smallest diameter at the bottom. If cylindrical the outside diameter shall be between 34 and 36 millimeters; if conical, the ouside diameter of the base shall be between 31 and 33 millimeters and the maximum diameter between 35 and 37 millimeters.

The charge of the bottle shall be 9 grams. All bottles shall bear on top of the neck above the graduations, in plain legible characters, the mark defining the weight of the charge to be used (9 grams.)

The total height of the bottle shall be between 150 and 165 millimeters (5 7/8 and 61⁄2 inches), same as standard milk test bottles.

Fifty per cent. 9 gram long neck bottles.-The same specifications in every detail as specified for the 50 per cent. 9 gram short neck bottles shall apply for the long neck bottle with the exception, however, that the total height of this bottle shall be between 210 and 235 millimeters (8 1/4 and 8 7/7 inches) and the total length of the graduation shall not be less than 120 millimeters.

THE STANDARD BABCOCK PIPETTE.

Total length of pipette not more than 330 millimeters (13 1/4 inches). Outside diameter of suction tube 6 to 8 millimeters. Length of suction tube. 130 millimeters. Outside diameter of delivery tube 4.5 to 5.5 millimeters. Length of delivery tube 100 to 120 millimeters. Distance of graduation mark above bulb 30 to 60 millimeters. Nozzle straight. Delivery 17.6 cubic centimeters of water to 20 degrees C. in five to eight seconds.

STANDARD WEIGHTS.

The standard weight shall be nine grams.

CHAPTER 75.

AN ACT to provide a lien on motor vehicles for services or work done, or for accessories, or supplies furnished by garages, mechanics, repairmen or other individuals or corporations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

§ 1. All persons, individuals or corporations in conducting the business of selling, repairing, furnishing accessories or supplies for motor vehicles shall have a lien on such motor vehicle for the reasonable or agreed charges for repairs, work done, accessories or supplies furnished for or on machines, and for storing or keeping said machine, and such persons, individuals or corporations may detain all motor vehicles in their possession on which work has been done by them until the reasonable or agreed charges therefor have been paid.

The lien provided for in this act shall not be lost by the removal of such motor vehicle from the garage, shop or premises of the person, individual or corporation performing labor, repairing, furnishing accessories or supplies therefor: Provided, however, such person, individual or corporation shall assert such lien within six months by filing in the office of the county clerk of said county a statement showing the amount of materials furnished or labor performed on said car and the cost of same. Said statement to be filed in the same manner as the lien of mechanics and materialmen, after the removal of such vehicle, unless the owner thereof shall consent to an additional extension of time as provided for in this act, in which event the lien shall extend for such a length of time as the parties may agree upon, reduced to writing and signed by the parties thereto.

§ 2. Any motor vehicle remaining in possession of a person, individual or corporation on which repairs have been made, labor performed, accessories or supplies furnished by such person, individual or corporation for more than thirty days may be sold to pay said charges, but the person, individual or corporation to whom the charges are payable shall first advertise said vehicle for sale six days before the sale is made, in some paper of general circulation in the town city or county where the materials were furnished or labor performed on such motor vehicle.

CHAPTER 76.

AN ACT to authorize the appointment of the commanding officer of Camp Zachary Taylor as one of three members of a General Zachary Taylor Memorial Commission who shall collect and expend the necessary funds to make the birth and burial place of General Zachary Taylor a lasting tribute to his memory. This famous warrior and statesman was born, lived, died and was buried in Kentucky, and whereas the President of the United States of America has, as an honor to the memory of this distinguished Kentucky patriot and former President of the United States, proclaimed that the National cantonment in Jefferson County, Kentucky, shall be called Camp Zachary Taylor. Therefore:

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

There is hereby created a General Zachary Taylor Memorial Commission to serve without pay, and the Governor is authorized to appoint the Commanding Officer of Camp Zachary Taylor and two citizens of Kentucky members of this board, who are hereby authorized to provide for the collection and expenditure of all necessary funds to purchase in the name of the General Zachary Taylor Memorial, the birth and burial place of General Taylor in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and to supervise and make all necessary alterations or transfers of said grounds to make this a lasting tribute to his memory.

CHAPTER 77.

AN ACT to create the office of Supervisor of Parents, who are charged with wilful desertion or abandonment of indigent children under the age of sixteen years and to provide for the duties of such Supervisor, to provide the manner in which he is to be appointed and removed from office and to provide for his compensation in counties having a population of 200,000 or more.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

1. That in all counties in this Commonwealth having a population of 200,000, or more, is hereby created the office of Supervisor of Parents who are charged with the crime of wilful desertion or abandonment of indigent children under sixteen years of age. Said supervisor shall be a male resident, of such county, over twenty-one years of age and shall be appointed by the judge of the circuit court having criminal jurisdiction, for a term of four years, but may be removed at any time by said circuit judge having criminal jurisdiction.

2. It shall be the duty of said supervisor to investigate all cases in which any person is charged by indictment or otherwise with having wilfully deserted or abandoned his or her children under the age of sixteen years, for the purpose of ascertaining what amount the said person so charged shall pay weekly or monthly for the purpose of maintaining said children. He shall report to the judge of the circuit court having criminal jurisdiction in such county the result of his investigations in writing. He shall, when ordered by said judge, make collections from time to time from such persons, keeping an accurate account of the collections made by him and giving receipts therefor, and the money so collected shall be distributed to the person or persons having the said indigent children in charge to be used for their maintenance.

3. Said supervisor shall have the same power of arrest and the same right to execute process as is now given by law to the sheriff in this Commonwealth.
