WHY weepest thou? wherefore art thou sad? are questions which those who have hearts to be touched with the sight of human misery, have reason often to propose, as they journey through this vale of tears, for truly "man is born unto trouble as the sparks fly upward." Happy were it for the children of sorrow did they oftener seek to analyse their own tears, or trace to their true source those afflictions which fill the present scene with the sounds of lamentation and mourning and woe.
