A bill to amend section 4576 of the statutes, relating to adultery, and providing for the prosecution of such cases. The question was: Shall the bill be ordered engrossed and read a third time?

Senator Ackley moved that the motion to reconsider be laid over until next Wednesday.

Senator Bosshard rose to a point of order that the motion to reconsider being made on the same day, the motion must be put.

Senator Ackley rose to the point of order that if the motion to lay over be seconded by five senators the motion must be laid over to the next calendar

Senator Bosshard insisted that this applied only when the motion to reconsider is made on the next day succeeding the action.

The president ruled that the motion to reconsider was in order, and put the motion,

Senator Ackley called for the yeas and nays.

Senator Bosshard rose to the point of order that the vote was announced, and so a roll call was not in order.
