A bill to amend sections 925-143, 1081, 1110 and 1121 of the statutes, relating to the time for paying over the county and state taxes by local and county treasurers.

EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATIONS

The confirmation of Walter Alexander to be a member of the railroad commission was taken up at this time.

The question was, Shall the nomination by the governor of Walter Alexander, of Milwaukee, to be a member of the railroad commission of Wisconsin for the term ending on the first Monday in February, 1921, be confirmed?

The ayes and noes were required and the vote was: Ayes, 17; noes, 15; absent or not voting, 1; as follows:

Ayes Senators Ackley, Albers, Baxter, Bennett, Bray, Burke, Cunningham, Everett, Fairchild, Hanson, Kellogg, Martin, Mulberger, Perry, Staudenmayer, Stevens and Whitman-17.

Noes Senators Arnold, Barwig, Bichler, Bosshard, Culbertson, Glenn, Huber, Jennings, Monk, Potts, Rollmann, Scott, Skogmo, Tomkins and Weissleder-15.

And so the nomination was confirmed.

Senator Perry moved that action on the confirmation of John S. Owen to be a member of the state highway commission be postponed for one week.

A division was called for and the senate refused to postpone the confirmation.

The question was, Shall the nomination by the governor of John S. Owen of Eau Claire, to be a member of the state highway commission for the term ending on the first Monday in February, 1921, be confirmed?

The ayes and noes were required and the vote was: Ayes, 30; noes, 2; absent or not voting, 1; as follows:

Ayes Senators Ackley, Albers, Arnold, Barwig, Baxter, Bosshard, Bray, Burke, Culbertson, Cunningham, Everett, Fairchild, Glenn, Hanson, Huber, Jennings, Kellogg, Martin, Monk, Mulberger, Perry, Potts, Rollmann, Scott, Skogmo, Staudenmayer, Stevens, Tomkins, Weissleder and
