MR. PRESIDENT:

The Assembly has passed

No. 11 A., A bill to incorporate Symphony College.

No. 14 A., A bill to extend the time of collecting taxes in the town of Nekimio in Winnebago county.

No. 63 A., A bill to repeal an act entitled an act in reference to appeals from Justice's Courts, approved April 6, 1852.

No. 73 A., A bill to appropriate to Alexander Mitchell the sum therein named.

No. 72 A., A bill to provide for laying out a certain State Road therein mentioned.

No. 64 A., A bill to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate the Winnebago Lake and Fox River Road Company.

No. 7 A., A bill to amend section 15 of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Sheboygan and Maysville Plank Road Company, approved, Feb. 9, 1850.

No. 52 A., A bill appropriating to E. B. Quiner the sum therein named.

No. 6 A., A bill to incorporate the Marine, Fire and Life Insurance Company of Wisconsin, and

No. 13 A., A bill to change the name of Lewis Frederick Dengel to Lewis Erederick Schneider.

The Assembly has also passed

No. 4 S., A bill to incorporate the Menomonee Locomotive Manufacturing Company, and

No. 41 S., A bill to appropriate money to pay the mileage of the Members of the legislature.

With amendments to each.

In all which the concurrence of the Senate is requested. The Assembly has concurred in the amendment of the Senate to No. 2 A., A bill to amend an act to incorporate the Sheboygan and Mississippi Rail Road Company, approved March 8, 1852. I am directed to present for your Signature

"An act to allow appeals to be taken from the decisions of the Register of the State Land Office," and

"An act authorizing the Trustees of the village of Waukesha to raise money by tax,"

Which have been signed by the Speaker of the Assembly.

Said bills Nos. 11, 14, 63, 73, 72, 64, 7, 52, 6 and 13 A., were severally read the first and second times.

The amendment of the Assembly to said bill No. 41 S., was concurred in.

And the question being upon concurring in the amendment of

the Assembly to said bill No. 4 S.,

Mr. Hunter moved that said bill be laid on the table,

Which was agreed to.

FRIDAY, Jan. 28, 1852.

Prayer by Rev. Mr. Lord.

The reading of the Journal of yesterday was dispensed with. Mr. Wakeley presented the petition of E. S. Suthen and seventy other citizens of the county of Rock, for the passage of a law similar to the Maine Liquor Law.

Which was referred to the Judiciary Committee.

Mr. Alban presented the petition of Joseph Wood, John Compton, Henry Clinton and 69 others, praying for a charter to be given to John J. Cruikshank to construct a canal at Grand Rapids on the Wisconsin River.

Also proceedings of public meeting at Grand Rapids on same subject,

Which was referred to the committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Cary presented the petition of Lydia S. Meader and 2400 others asking the enactment of a law "similar in features to one known as the Maine Liquor Law,”

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Reed presented the accounts of David Holt, Jr., Demming Fitch, J. F. Birchard and Holt and Brown against the State, Which was referred to the committee on Legislative Expenditures.

Mr. Alban presented the account of Mann & Stafford against the State.

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of Board of Supervisors of the county Waukesha, asking authority to equalize assessments on Plank and Railroad Companies for County Boards.

Which was referred to a select committee of three, consisting of Messrs. McLane, Bovee and Reed.

Mr. Pinkney presented a resolution of the Free Democratic State Convention, tendering thanks of said convention to Senate and Assembly for the use of their respective halls.

Mr. Alban asked leave of absence for Mr. Sterling until Tuesday

next.

Which was granted.

Mr. Wakeley asked leave of absence for Mr. Miller.

Which was granted.

No. 74 S, a bill to incorporate the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad.

Bridges.

Mr. Blair, from the committee on State Affairs, to whom the petition of Ozro A. Thomas to extend the time for collection of taxes in the town of Dane, had been referred, reported

No. 73 S, a bill to extend the time for the collection of taxes in the town of Dane, County of Dane,

Which was read first and second times.

Mr. Blair moved that the rules be suspended and said bill be put upon its passage now,

Which was agreed to.

And said bill No. 73 S, was read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

Mr. Bovee, from the committee on Enrolled Bills, reported as correctly enrolled,

No. 41 S, a bill to appropriate money to pay the mileage of the members of the Legislature.

The following resolution, introduced by Mr. Briggs yesterday, was taken up:

Resolved. That the Chief Clerk be required to procure for the use of the members of the Senate, two hundred copies of the Transactions of the Agricultural Society of the State of Wisconsin for the year 1851, at a cost not exceeding one dollar per copy.

The question being upon the adoption thereof,

It was decided in the affirmative,

And the ayes and noes having been called for,
