And five hundred copies of the Governor's Message in the Norwegian language, and five hundred in the Holland language, for the use of the Senate, at the price of ten cents per copy.

Mr. Pinkney moved to amend by adding 300 copies in the Welsh language,

Which was agreed to.

Mr. Smith moved to amend by striking out "fifeen hundred " and inserting "one thousand," and by adding" and five hundred copies of the Governor's Message, published in the Republican at Sheboygan, at a price not exceeding 10 cents per copy."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Wakeley moved the resolution and amendments be referred to the Committee on Printing,

Which was agreed to.

Mr. Wakeley introduced the following resolution:

Resolved, By the Senate, the Assembly concurring That the Librarian be directed to deliver to each member of the Senate and Assembly, a copy of the Revised Statutes, a copy of the Acts and Resolves of the last Session of the Legislature, and a copy of the Journals of the respective Houses, for the Session of 1852. Which was adopted.

No. 6, (S), A Bill to amend the Charter of the Beloit and Madison Railroad Company.

On motion of Mr. Stewart, the Senate resolved itself into committee of the whole for the consideration of the Governor's Message. Mr. Stewart in the Chair.

And after some time spent therein, the committee arose and reported, recommending the following references:

So much as relates to lumbering interests to a select committee of three.

So much as relates to finance to the committee on Finance.

So much as relates to Railroads to committee on Internal Improvements.

So much as relates to Congress lands to committee on Public Lands.

So much as relates to agriculture to the committee on Agriculture.

So much as relates to Banking to committee on Banks and Banking.

So much as relates to mining and mineral interest to committee on Agriculture and Manufactures.

So much as relates to public instruction to committee on Education, School and University Lands.

So much as relates to the State Prison to committee on State

Affairs.

So much as relates to Fox and Wisconsin River improvement to a special Committee of three.

So much as relates to Commission of Emmigration to committee on State Affairs.

So much as relates to unequal assessments to committee on State Affairs.

So much as relates to the health of the state to the "Sovereigns." The report of the committee of the whole was adopted.

The President thereupon appointed Messrs. Alban, Allen and Vittum, the select committee to whom was referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to the lumbering interests.

And Messrs. Bashford, Hunter and Lewis, to whom was referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to the Fox and Wisconsin River Improvement.

A message from the Assembly, by its Chief Clerk, Thomas McHugh, Esq.:

MR. PRESIDENT,-I am directed to inform the Senate that the Assembly has concurred in the Resolution of the Senate adopting the joint Rules and Orders of the Senate and Assembly, for the Session of 1852, for the government of the two Houses during the present Session.

On motion of Mr. Prentice the Senate adjourned.

The reading of yesterday's journal was dispensed with.

No. 8 (S), A Bill to authorise the town of Beloit to aid in the construction of a certain Railroad.

By Mr. Hunter,

No. 9 (S), A. Bill to amend an act entitled "An act to consolidate and amend the act to incorporate the city of Milwaukee, and the several acts amendatory thereof," approved Feb. 20, 1851.

Said bill No. 7, was referred to committee on Incorporations. Said bill No. 8, was referred to committee on Internal Improve

ments.

Mr. Alban moved that the Senate adjourn until 2 o'clock, P. M. And the question having been put,

It was decided in the negative,

And the ayes and noes having been called for,

Mr. Alban voted in the affirmative.

Those who voted in the negative were,

Mr. Wakeley presented the following resolution:

Resolved, That a select committee of three be appointed to prepare and report to the Senate a bill for the incorporation of Railroad Companies; and that until such report, no bill granting a special charter for a Railroad Company shall be considered on a third reading.

Which, on motion of Mr. Wakely was laid upon the table until to-morrow.

Mr. Sharpstein introduced the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That the Superintendent of Public Property be and he is hereby directed to put up a stove in the Senate chamber forthwith, and also to furnish a sufficient number of steel pens for the use of the several Senators during the session.

Mr. Bovee introduced No. 1. (S) Joint Resolution relative to instruction of Senators on the Homestead Bill, which was read the first and second times.

Mr. Sharpstein introduced the following resolution, which was adopted, to wit:
