I. John C. Allen, secretary of state of the state of Nebraska,
do hereby certify that I have carefully examined and compared the annexed copies of the laws, joint resolutions, and memorials passed by the legislature of said state
its twenty-third session with the original roll's on file in this office, and that the same are true copies thereof.
The marginal notes of this volume of laws will show the volume of statutes where any prior law upon the same subject may be found. The legislature adjourned April 8, 1893. Where there is no emergency clause in any of these aots, by force of Sec. 24, Art. III, of the constitution, they could not take effect at all until August 1, 1893, three calendar months after the adjournment of the legislature. The arrangement of the general laws is based upon the arrangement of the Compiled Statutes of 1889. The marginal notes refer to both the Consolidated Statutes of 1891 and the Compiled Statutes of 1891. The capitalization, orthography, and punctuation as found herein are the same as in the certified copy of the laws.
