Repealing clause.

by imprisonment in the penitentiary for not less than one year nor more than three years, and if any company, association or corporation shall be guilty of violating this act such company, association or corporation shall be punished by a fine of not less than one thousand ($1.000) dollars nor more than five thousand ($5.000) dollars.

SECTION 4. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act, be and are hereby repealed. Approved April 10, A. D. 1893.

AN ACT legalizing the payment and allowance of fees to county treasurers in counties under township organization.

PREAMBLE.

WHEREAS, In Counties under township organization there has been allowed and paid to county treasurers, upon taxes collected by township collectors and paid to the county treasurer, the same fees as are allowed by law to county treasurers in counties not under township organization, such payments having been made in accordance with the opinions given by the attorney general of the state, and in the honest belief that the same were just and proper, and,

WHEREAS, In most of the counties under township organization without the allowance of such compensation, the other fees of the office has not amounted to more than a reasonable and necessary clerk hire; therefore,

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the allowance and payment to urer's fees. county treasurers, in counties under township organization, upon the taxes heretofore collected by township collectors and paid over to said county treasurer, the same fees thereon as are allowed by law to county treasurers in counties not under township organization on taxes collected by them, be and the same is hereby legalized and confirmed. CHAPTER 53.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of officers, members and em-
ployes of the 23rd session of the legislature.

SECTION 1. SEC. 3. Whereas an emergency for the taking effect of this act exists, therefore this act shall take effect and to be in force from and after its passage. Approved January 28, A. D. 1893.

CHAPTER 54.

Appropriation for incidental "xpenses of legislature.

Vouchers; warrants.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of incidental expenses incurred during the Twenty-third session of the Legislature.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska :

SECTION 1. That the sum of fifty-five thousand ($55,000) dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the state treasury out of any money not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of incidental expenses of both houses of the legislature, including printing, stationery, newspapers and postage, fuel, lights and other special expenses which may be incurred by either house.

SEC. 2. All accounts for any expense contracted by either hou e shall be examined by the standing committee of accounts and expenditures of the

house to which such expense is chargeable, and certified by the chairman of said committee to the auditor of public accounts as being correct. Each account must be verified by the presiding officers of the respective houses as being contracted in conformity with a resolution duly offered and adopted, and, upon the examination and adjustment thereof by the said auditor and approval thereof by the secretary of state, the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant for the amount so certified upon the general fund of the state.

SEC. 3. There being an emergency this act shall Emergency. take effect and be in force from and after its

AN ACT making appropriation for the current expenses of the State
Government for the years ending March 31, 1894, and March 31,
1895, and to pay miscellaneous items of indebtedness owing by
the State of Nebraska.

Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of

GOVERNOR.

Postage four hundred ($400) dollars. Books, blanks and printing, four hundred ($400) dollars.

Stationery, four hundred ($400) dollars.

Telegraph, telephone and express, four hundred ($400) dollars.

Furniture and repairs, two hundred ($200) dollars.

ADJUTANT GENERAL.

Books, blanks, stationery and postage, one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars.

Storage of arms and ammunitions, one hundred ($100) dollars.

Express, freight, telegraph and telephone, two hundred ($200) dollars.

COMMISSION OF LABOR.

Postage, three hundred ($300) dollars.

Books, blanks and printing, five hundred ($500) dollars.

Telegraph, telephone and express, two hundred ($200) dollars.

SECRETARY OF STATE.

Postage, seven hundred ($700) dollars. Lithographing, two hundred and fifty ($250)

dollars.

Preparing Session Laws for printer, copying, indexing, comparing and proof reading, three hundred ($300) dollars.

Shipping laws and journals, two hundred and fifty ($250) dollars.
