PREFACE. ANOTHER volume is now complete-and one we venture to assert, not the least interesting of our little series. We have been assisted by writers of no mean pretensions; and do most cordially thank them. Their kind sympathy and ready aid have materially lightened labours, which severe illness would otherwise have rendered excessive. Some of our long continuations are brought to a conclusion, and in the coming numbers we shall sedulously strive to provide such papers as will ensure variety, and instruction at the same time. The publisher will do his part to give the "Mag." further attractions, and we sincerely trust to deserve the continuance of that confidence which has been reposed in us, and an increase of that support which we have hitherto received, and thankfully acknowledge.
