Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me, may be with me; that they may see my glory, which thou hast given me: because thou hast loved me before the foundation of the world. Ver. 24.

HOLY COMMUNION.

And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. St. Matt.

i. 23.

Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. St. Matt. vi. 11.

And Jesus going out saw a great multitude: and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. St. Mark vi. 34.

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came to him, saying: This is a desert place, and the hour is now past: Ver. 35.

Send them away, that going into the next villages and towns, they may buy themselves meat to eat. Ver. 36.

But he answering, said to them: Give you them to eat. And they said to him: Let us go and buy bread for two hundred pence; and we will give them to eat. Ver. 37.

And he saith to them: How many loaves have you? go and see. And when they knew, they say: Five,

And he commanded them to make them all sit down by companies on the green grass. Ver. 39.

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties. Ver. 40.

And when he had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave to his disciples to set before them and the two fishes he divided among them all. Ver. 41.

And they all did eat, and had their fill. Ver. 42. And they took up the leavings, twelve baskets full of fragments, and of the fishes. Ver. 43.

And they that did eat, were five thousand men. Ver. 44.

And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke, and gave to his disciples; and said: Take ye and eat: this is my body. St. Matt. xxvi. 26.

And taking the chalice, he gave thanks; and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this: Ver. 27.

For this is my blood of the new testament, which shall be shed for many for the remission of sins. Ver. 28.

And it came to pass, whilst he was at table with them, he took bread, and blessed, and broke, and gave to them. St. Luke xxiv. 30.

And their eyes were opened; and they knew him : and he vanished out of their sight. Ver. 31.

Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you: Moses gave you not bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. Ver. 32.

For the bread of God, is that which cometh down from heaven, and giveth light to the world. Ver. 33. Then they said to him: Lord, give us always this bread. Ver. 34.

And Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life he that cometh to me, shall not hunger; and he that believeth in me, shall never thirst. Ver. 35.

I am the bread of life. Ver. 48.

Your fathers did eat manna in the desert; and are dead. Ver. 49.

This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die. Ver. 50. I am the living bread, which came down from heaven. Ver. 51.

If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give, is my flesh for the life of the world. Ver. 52.

The Jews, therefore, debated among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Ver. 53.

Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you: Unless eat of the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. Ver. 54.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. Ver. 55.

For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. Ver. 56.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. Ver. 57.

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me. Ver. 58.

This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. Ver. 59.

HONESTY.

Thou shalt not steal: St. Matt. xix. 18.

He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in that which is greater: and he that is unjust in that which is little, is unjust also in that which is greater. St. Luke xvi. 10.

If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon, who will trust you with that which is the true? Ver. 11.

And if you have not been faithful with that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? Ver. 12.

HOSPITALITY.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man. St. Matt. x. 40.

And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones, a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, Amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. Ver. 42.

When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor thy neighbours who are rich, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made to thee. St. Luke

xiv. 12.

But when thou makest a feast, call the feeble, the lame, and the blind. Ver. 13.

And thou shalt be blessed, because they have not wherewith to make thee recompense: for recompense shall be made thee at the resurrection of the just. Ver. 14.

HOUR OF DEATH.

Neither dost thou fear God, seeing thou art under the same condemnation? St. Luke xxiii. 40.

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done no evil. Ver. 41.

And he said to Jesus: Lord, remember me when thou shalt come into thy kingdom. Ver. 42.

And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise. Ver. 43.

Amen, amen I say to you, if any man keep my word, he shall not see death for ever. St. John viii. 51.
